Why do we have to spoil other players' game?

I have PvP. I just hate it! I don't care at all about pvp. But...

1) ...I have to go PvP to level up my skills. Like for exemple War Horn.... So i go, but i don't even equip itens\wepons in there. So, my team is 3 vs 4 vs 4
2) ... i jyst move around and let TOP team kill me. That way, i hope it ends faster!
3) ... I realy dont understand... why ZoS force us players to spoil other players' game. I don't get it!
4) Just why?! This weak Endeavors is about PvP... why?! once i have to spoil 5 other players game. Just why i hate do do it?!

I realy dont understand. This is the only game, when you have to do PvP to spoil other players game. And even worse, Developers force us to make this. This is so crazy!

It is simply not. This game is big and designed in a way every player will interact with every aspect of the game through their gameplay. It is pretty normal in this genre.

Most people in PvP enjoy PvP, so you’re not spoiling anyone’s game when you fight them. But to answer your question about Endeavors:
    1. You don’t, there’s a ‘Kill X Foes with Class abilities’ option this week too
    2. Whitestrake’s Mayhem is this week, so it’s likely they want to tie it into that
If you’re PC NA I can send you some War Torte so you can finish leveling your skills and get out faster though.

It's simply about you spoiling others and your own gameplay experience, nothing more and nothing less. You always have options, faster and slower ones, but you've made your choice clearly.

Fungal Grotto after the second boss there are multiple large crab packs and then a crab boss that spawn waves of crabs. Wayrest Sewers also has the rat whisperer who summons wave after wave of skeevers for you to blast away. 180 class ability kills done in a few runs.

Unless you're going into end game, you don't really need Warhorn. It's expected, but not really needed (especially if you're going Necro Colossus+Saxhleel tank).

No one is forcing you to ruin someone else's fun or enjoyment. You're doing that wilfully all by yourself.

I'm not the biggest fan of PvP, but when I go in to Cyrodiil, Imperial City, or Battlegrounds, I'm always going to at least try to get a win for the team. At the very least, put on some gear and a weapon. Go with something like Plague Doctor/Leeching/Crimson/Powerful Assault/Ebon/anything, and just be a nuisance to the other teams by using chains and CCs. Wilfully causing your team to come last because you want it to be over is beyond selfish. That's not on ZOS.

If you hate it that much and still want Warhorn, Barrier, Caltrops, etc. etc. then you can run around Cyrodiil doing wall/gate repairs and you don't have to feel like you're "ruining" anyone's enjoyment of the game and you don't have to feel impacted by the Cyrodiil lag.

Or join a guild that does PvP and actually try to enjoy it.

I am guessing since the pvp event may be dropping as early as this week they are focusing on pvp endeavors.

Personally I am doing the “180 w/class abilities” one. I have an alt set up with class abilities on one of their bars, just for this type of endeavor.

And even if you only have one character, and it's set up with weapon & other skill line abilities, you can still get credit for killing critters. So as long as your character has a ranged spamable, even if it's not in your main stat & not leveled, you can go somewhere like the ruined chapel in Auridon and kill monkeys. o:)

You don't have to try to kill other players in battlegrounds (even in deathmatch). Just get yourself some healing sets and skills and follow your 3 buddies around and try to keep them alive.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

Yeah, that is the other option (which I've exercised on various occasions when I didn't like any of the Endeavor activities)...

I have no sympathy for you. Ranking up the skill lines in PvP isn't hard, make sure you pop a war Torte before you do the Battleground. Stick on some gear and take part in it.

I get that you hate it (although you don't say why) but absolutely nothing bad will happen to you, yes you will die but you already know that but you might find the experience slightly happier if you try. Obviously you might not.

You do realise you are actually prolonging the experience? I believe you get more AP for coming 1st or 2nd as you considered to have won...

But, i have to go PvP to get exp. Can be Battleground or cyrodill or i dont know and i dont care. All i know is this:
If i wanna Lv.up Some skills to use in PvE, i have to go PvP. I have no alternative at all! Once more, i can go Cyrodill or whatever... for PvP. I just hate it!
So i go Battleground and Spoil others game.
Why i dont go and heal my team?! Cuz i dont wanna stay in there. I just hate it!
I go, i run to enemy and let them kill me faster as i can.

Sorry but the skills you want are linked to PvP.

I don't see posts on here from PvPers complaining about having to level up the Psijic Skill line, or Mages Skill line, or Undaunted Skill line, etc. All of which contain skills used by PvPers. They have to do PvE which many don't enjoy to level those Skill lines.

Want the skills take part in the content, or do what you do. Although as I said it would actually be quicker for you to win a Battleground as you would get more AP and therefore have to do fewer of them.

And I do think asking why you hate it is reasonable. Players are more understanding when someone gives reasons rather than a blanket I hate it statement.

Aren't Battlegrounds pretty poor in terms of efficiency?

Use some boost food, go in to Cyrodiil during the PvP event with a healer character, and repair doors and walls. You can max Alliance War in a couple days like that.

Then buy the skilline with crowns on your other characters.

The alternative is to not use the skill. Don't have warhorn? slot a damaging ult instead. Don't go out of your way to waste the time of people who want to pvp by griefing. ESO has way more skills that can fit the active skills bar; there is always an alternative.

If you can't deal with this fact, quit the game. To actively try to die in BGs is wasting not only other people's time but also yours. You are deliberately prolonging your pvp grind by not trying to win to get more exp in the game mode.

    Simple!
I play Elder Scrolls since Arena. Elder Scrolls is my favorite game! I just love it!!! And Elder Scrolls+PvP don't make any sence. (Not for me) If i wanna play PvP games, in my opinion anyother PvP game is better for that then Elder Scrolls.
But if i wanna play role-playing game, there's not better then Elder Scrolls! There's NOT!
In ESO (PvE) you have Story, Nice quests, nice sounds, Crazy crafics its a [snip] crazy world! It's amazing.
In ESO (PvP) i dont even care what you have. Because it's PvP... make no sence for me. Elder Scrolls + PvP dont make any sence.

I realy dont understand. This is the only game, when you have to do PvP to spoil other players game. And even worse, Developers force us to make this. This is so crazy!

You don't need to engage in pvp, but you could help us out...go to every outpost/keep and repair inner and out ring walls/doors to 100%. This is actually real helpful due to the pace of map play, most will leave wall repairs at 75% and sometimes less.

You have two options. Do it or don't do it. Pick. No one is forcing you.

If you think you're spoiling or ruining someone else's experience, then it's on you and you know what you're doing. That's called courtesy and decency. ZOS makes the content, it's up to players how they engage with it. You've chosen how you're willing to spoil other's enjoyment for your own selfishness by participating in the content but not actively engaging it; you're actively sabotaging your team and are working against your group while in a group play mode. I'd compare this to people who don't want to do PvE and stand around idle in dungeons but loot bosses for rewards they've put no effort into gaining. Again, that's not on ZOS. That's on players.

I have no particular interest in PvP by itself these days, but I'm never going to sabotage my group. Like I said, wall repairs in Cyrodiil don't require a group and can be done even in or outside of prime time lag because there are no split second life or death situations with other players. Find a keep with some siege weapons where there might be a fight and go start repairing walls. You can actively avoid fights while also making AP both from the wall repairs and from the possible defence tick you get if the keep is successfully defended.

They're not PvE skills. They're Alliance War (PvP) skills. It's in the category title. They're skills that happen to be useful in PvE. Same way a great many PvE skills are useful in PvP. Again, as I said before, unless you're going into end game PvE, you don't particularly need Warhorn. It's desirable, but not needed outside of that.

I've also played since Arena and PvP in an Alliance War scenario makes perfect sense. How or where it fits into the lore and why no other game brushes on the topic of this Three Banners War is less so, but this is an MMO first and foremost and we do know there was a great period of turmoil around this time. We also know that the lore within the Elder Scrolls is captured from the "perspective of non-player characters," so the fact that it's not brushed on isn't some massive plothole in the universe; perhaps simply called "a period of civil unrest," where only the Vestige and a few people know the extent of the Planemeld event along with the Three Banners War. No previous game was an MMO, and all MMOs have a degree of PvP. You can't make the comparison to other core games in the Elder Scrolls franchise. This isn't Arena/Daggerfall/Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim Online and it's not a single player game. You're going into group play and are actively sabotaging your group.

Do you also queue into dungeons and not actively participate?

What happens after you get your war horn? What if your group goes in a dungeon/trial you don't like? Will you drag your feet behind the group and do nothing because you don't like that dungeon/trial?

I mean, according to your logic, the game forces you to do stuff you don't want. So, will you refuse to perform your role when the content doesn't appeal to you?

It is simply not. This game is big and designed in a way every player will interact with every aspect of the game through their gameplay. It is pretty normal in this genre.
From those who have played other MMOs, this statement isn't accurate.

I'm sure there may be other games out there forcing players to partake in every facet of the game, but this is not the norm.

ESO forces people into PvP under the guise of the reward system. Want to get the achievement for Skyshard Hunter, which allows players to buy a fake one? PvP is required. Same with fishing. Same with the delves.

PvP should never be a forced zone for basic rewards. The entire point of its is literally in it's name: Player vs. Player.

Not Player vs. Casual Who's Only Here To Fish, Delve, and Chase Lights.

If you're not interested in pvp, consider taking up the noble profession of wall repair specialist. You can get reasonable AP just going from keep to keep and repairing the walls to max. You may even get a lucky defense tick while you're there. Put on your torte and enjoy.

Simply being in Cyrodiil does not mean you're doing PvP. Back when I originally got the Skyshard Hunter achievement on my very first character, I went into Cyrodiil at quiet times in dead campaigns (usually the 7-day campaign, which no longer exists; but in the upcoming Mayhem event there will be a couple campaigns which, at various times, will have low populations) and collected the skyshards -- I also spent that time getting the lorebooks, doing things like the Nirnroot Wine quest, among others, and clearing delves. I did exactly zero PvP at the time despite spending a significant amount of time in Cyrodiil. Same thing for the Imperial City Sewers. ESO is not forcing anyone to do PvP.

No one get the point in here.

But i recall again. "I just hate PvP. I don't care at all about PvP i don't even care about cyrodill or whatever. If it's about PvP i have no interest at all."

The problem is not about PvP. The problem is i Don't understand why i need to go PvP to Levelup PvE skills.

Hey, you wanna take another look at the Warhorn skill.

Specifically, look at which skill line it's in.

    Hmm. Alliance War. Assault.

    O.o

You see that? You are aren't leveling up a PVE skill at all. That's a PVP skill, from a PVP skill line, designed from launch to be acquired from Cyrodiil.

That you intend to use War Horn in PVE is irrelevant. It's an Alliance War Assault skill, and you can darned well do the Alliance War content as intended if you want it. See also: caltrops, continuous assault, Vigor, and all the other stuff from the Alliance War content you'll eventually want.

As a final note, I have very little sympathy for your "woe is me" when you are actively sitting out your battlegrounds matches knowing it hurts your teammates. That's some prime "ZOS, look what you made me do" excuse-making right there.

You lost all credibility for your argument by the second half of the first bullet point. As far as I am concerned, joining BGs and intentionally throwing the match in the way you described should be a suspendable offense.

You want everything this game has to offer, play the full game.

I don't care for PvP at all either, but that has not been a big burden.

Been doing endeavors since they started. But won't do the PvP ones. That has cost me zero weekly endeavors and settling for 2/3 daily endeavors less times than I have fingers on one hand.

Level 10 Alliance skill. My elven healer is a proud First Sergeant of Keep Repair. I say that because 90% of her AP has come from repairing keeps (usually during double AP events). The times she has engaged in combat with another player are extremely rare. Midyear Mayhem event tix? Scouting missions - and she's never fought another player doing a scouting mission.

It only takes one character maxing the Alliance War skills. You can crownbuy the skill line for the rest if desired.

PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo
