Update or delete armour sets.

With the upcoming patch 33 I have noticed there will now be many sets with an obsolete 5 piece or the same buffs as another set. There used to be a stam or mag version for many sets seems many need updating or just deleting from the game.

One idea I had was maybe the devs could free up some space by deleting some sets and rewarding players back with the materials invested. I know myself I wouldn't mind getting back mats for duplicate sets in my bank to free up space.

There are already plenty of trash sets in the game and with next update there will be more, much more.

Those are forgotten sets no one ever uses or should never use them(like Tzogvin or Medusa).

They won't change those sets, they need to powercreep with each DLC so more people will buy it or buy ESO Plus. 90% or even more, of sets is outclasses by the other 5 or 10% of top sets and that is only if we look at pure damage sets like War Machine or Automaton. The sets with a buff or gimmick to it are only used to deconstruct or sell to merchants.

You're mentioning Tzogvin when sets like Spelunker exist? Too many sets to count need help to be worth using.

Buf Nikulas' Heavy Armor, this junk need it like a lot xd

About redundant sets, the first thing that immediately comes to mind is Hunding's Rage and Law of Julianos. And yet they still good sets to use them both at the same time as a leveling gear.

I don't think straight up deleting sets is a good idea. People have been filling their stickerbooks since the system came out, so just seeing a chunk of their effort being destroyed doesn't seem fair, no matter how many materials you give them back.

The main issue with these threads, I feel, is that most people want all sets to be meta, and I don't think that can happen, both because of obvious economic reasons (gotta sell them chapters) and because of balancing reasons, we can't have every set be meta, because what is the point in even having different sets then. I will say that a few of them could be buffed to be on par with BiS gear, just to give a few options, but not all of them.
What I would like to see, since we have so many sets, and since most of the playerbase plays the game casually, is for ZOS to rework some of them into having unique visuals, effects or summons and stuff like that, just for the fun of it.
We know the meta is always gonna be about having the BiS stuff, so I don't think there's much of a point in trying to bloat that, especially with how exhausting farming for some BiS gear is (looking at you antiquities). So I think a change like this could make some sets at least interesting to farm, and they could be used in overland content, since you can play it wearing rags, might as well make it more diverse.

With all the changes that ZOS keeps doing, maybe one of these sets will be niche or useful again.

I like the options that our our there. Then discovering or hearing about others for found a slick use!

there are definitely a lot of sets that could be updated that are borderline redundant with all of the hybridization, but i think that will come to pass in due time eventually

julianos and hundings will be virtually identical as of next update
toothrow/treasure hunter are virtually 99% the same now

julianos and hundings could be decent for raw stats if you just stacked both of them if their set bonuses are virtually the same, but you cant stack toothrow/treasure hunter due to overlapping major buffs

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities
