Be nice if Companions....

Yes beside not getting in the way and carrying stuff...
Make them be more fun.

Some of the sayings are useful - "use a stamina potion" - useful when I stop looking at my bar and over spam expensive abilities. Other sayings "Let's find a tavern to spend that"...not so much.

Maybe:

Quote Lore
Can they be more like a Cortana assistant (Hey Bastion, how much tempers selling for today, where do I find the refabricated motif, or something like that?)
Change up the sayings - maybe favorites from the ZOS team
Quests - require rapport to be really high to get to the next stage of some plan
When I dance, they dance.
Use random emotes
Help me research - cut down time
Talk to me in Morgan Freeman's voice, or Angela Basset
Use my own voice (i had an old Nokia N8 which I loved, on the mapping app, it allowed you you record your own voice, and play it for directions, required recording my voice)
Hugged me on my birthday

Yes, I understand this is frivolous and would be tough for ZOS to implement - just letting my mind wander.

Thoughts?

Z

They would have to pay the voice actors for more lines and aren't doing that unless they are adding a large list of them to interact with future content. They aren't going to do custom voices or do anything that breaks character personality.

This raises an interesting point: I've noticed recently that there are no physical social interactions between NPCs and players/NPCs, e.g. hug, kiss, hold hands. I realise it would involve significant changes to the game engine, but it would add a bit of realism/immersion.

I agree that the system feels kind of half-baked. I genuinely hope if the companion system is going to be here, they flesh it out more. But, like most new systems, ZOS tends to add one then completely forget about it for a long time in favor of 'new stuff.' I really wish they would be more willing to revisit older systems more often.

    - Agree with have my companion dance when I dance.
    - Have my companion dance when I play the lute.
    - Allow me to bring my companion into my homes (not some mannequin lookalike that can be programmed to go in a path).
    - Ensure rapport dropping acts are not actions that are easily done unintentionally (like accidently stealing something, plucking a butterfly/torchbug when going to interact with something, or killing a squirrel when aiming at a hostile bandit). Bastion yelled at my elf after she accidently stole something and she permanently fired him. Thankfully, I use an addon that prevents interacting with butterflies/torchbugs so Mirri doesn't suffer the same fate.
    - Have companions aware of a boss' reset radius and have dodge-rollers keep their dodge-rolls within that radius by rolling to the sides or even forward as appropriate to not reset the boss. My friend's bow-Mirri reset the Llambris twins this morning once they were down to about 15%; she dismissed Mirri before we started again and had no problem. My workaround is to give Mirri only melee weaponry or an ice staff.

Now, that all said, I love the companions and truly enjoy questing with Mirri. Overall I find them very well done but, like all things, minor tweaks/improvements are always welcome. :)

You are 100% right, companions could use a personality or utility boost!

I wish they at least carried the companion gear i pick up.

Quote Lore - Would be awesome.
More voice lines? that would be lovely.
Quests - require rapport to be really high to get to the next stage of some plan - NOOOOOOOOO
When I dance, they dance. - YESS!!!! or clap and cheer also!
They could say happy birthday though, it would be really cool.

maybe in the future there will be marriage though, wouldn't that be cool!? some people want it a lot... me? it depends on how it is done. I am not interested in marrying mirri or bastian

Arox the Mutilator - I want him as a companion. Frankly. I don’t want him to do anything other than cheer/jeer from the sidelines. Such a great character.

Kiss Mirry as companion would be nice, but more custumization iptions, skills and more dps/hps/ thingth companion can do - would be better for me.

This one would like the companions to carry their own gear.

Also, for Bastie to stop that creepy-standing-at-an-angle pose as he looks on. It is very unnerving.

Totally agree. About time companions carried their own gear. Enough to cover all armor and weapons available.

Yeah, companions should function like the craft bag. If I get companion gear, it goes into their inventory (shared by all companions). Whatever is equipped is specific to that companion. If I want to remove to my inventory to sell or whatever, it gives the option.

Other than that, my biggest issue is with how they draw aggro. Nothing worse than a companion pulling a WB right out of my destro ult.

100% agree on the dance party functionality. It would also be cool if they could learn instruments so we could form a band. Truthfully, Miri playing the lute would be about as useful in combat as she is right now anyways...

I wonder if we could get enough people together for an Epic Dancy Party!
Get 1000 players - to dance. Dance off with the Daedra in the Deadlands! Dagon Style.
