Update 32 and Mistform

"Mistform: This ability and morphs' damage reduction now only works against player attacks, rather than any attack, to prevent it from invalidating many threats in PvE encounters."

---This.

Please reconsider this change. It seems a little...no... very much "alot" knee jerk reaction to the Rockgrove trial. There adjustments that can be made to address the concerns you mentioned without completely disabling this in its current form. I for one, use it in my Vampire/Necro build since I generally have extremely limited time to play and when I can play I solo content (PvE), I am and have never been a PvP type player. This change would destroy my set-up as it's built around solo mitigation of damage whilst a vampire lord.

Again, I think decision is very punishing since it seems to very targeted to a specific type of play...mainly trial content and seemingly making those encounters trivial. I can't relate as i've never done trial content...no time and really no interest, as I love the single player solo experience more.

Thanks for listening.

Only reason it's still on my bar is because of the stage 2 passive and snare/immobilization purge. As a Dragonknight in combat it's basically the only reliable way to proc stage 2 since I can't turn invisible at will, and starting every fight from sneak or invisibility just isn't all that viable in certain content.

The devs tied Mistform into the vampire experience and now it's worthless in all PvE content and even some PvP content. (Because NPCs and environmental damage exists in PvP to.) Be nice if they properly balanced the ability, reworked Rockgrove, or gave us a more reliable stage 2 passive.

Oh, also Mistform doesn't mitigate player pet damage in PvP like Necro's Blastbones, Sorc pets, Warden's Bear, and set pieces that summon a pet.

They really did a excellent job of ruining all vampire skills allegedly in my opinion

They don't want vampire to be useful in any team context. I imagine someone thinks it's part of some sort of immersion. Any comment about the blood mist nerf though can probably be construed as bashing, because it makes no sense whatsoever, given that the elusive mist morph was obviously the disengage. In my estimation, blood mist was working precisely as originally intended, but devs didn't want to have to deal with it as a possible mitigation anymore.

Excellent point. It's just very disappointing. Ty for posting.

Yeah, for me, this is a staple for soloing vet dlc dungeons. I can’t believe that the person that thought of removing this in pve is sane. A nerf maybe but complete removal?? Jesus.

My reaction to the Mistform change is this: First let's take a look at this very well done promo page This Is ESO

Specifically this bit, "PLAY YOUR WAY...tailor your playstyle with hundreds of unique abilities."

My thought was, "Don't they mean, play your way unless you want to be a Vampire? In which case ZOS will tell you how to play?"

They say, "...the current iteration is currently enabling it to be used as a stand-your-ground ability in PvE. Moving forward, we are restricting the damage reduction to PvP to help stave off damage as you retreat, while removing it as an outright defensive tool in PvE."

This is literally the exact opposite of your message to, "PLAY YOUR WAY...tailor your playstyle with hundreds of unique abilities."
Players cannot tailor their playstyle when skills they use to mitigate damage (on an already bizarrely weak Vampire) are losing the ability to do just that.

STOP TELLING US HOW TO PLAY AND LET US PLAY OUR WAY!! FREE THE VAMPIRE!!

Just take a moment to unpack it and you will see just how absurd it is. A personal body area of effect damage/heal over time skill that is supposed to be used while disengaging?

The skill explicitly requires you to not disengage in order to utilize this particular morph's effects.

Besides, who disengages in PVE anyway, unless it's a guard or something?

    None of this makes sense.

I know right? Whenever I use that morph the one thing I'm not doing is disengaging. I survive better in it while chasing after my enemies.

You know, I had not even thought of that aspect. Now it makes even less sense.

ZOS shot themselves in both feet with this. Not only did they ruin a skill for PvE because they refuse to balance the fight in Rockgrove people were using the skill during to avoid ridiculous damage, they've also proven they CAN alter skills to work differently between PvP and PvE.

Which means they can balance the two separately, but won't.
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood

It's broken in PvP to where player pets and alliance war NPCs go through Mistform so it's not correctly balanced separately.

I'm really hoping they realize how ridiculous this change is and undo it, but this is zos so I'm not holding my breath. Seriously though this is especially stupid when it comes to blood mist, it's entire purpose is to heal up and NOT disengage. Why they insist on gutting vampirism repeatedly is beyond me.

Nerf this skill to 40% mitigation or so but keep it in PVE in PVP.

No idea why does this has 75% mitigation, its stronger than any "oh [snip]" ultimate.
