What was happening, what was making this happen? Bizarre FPS issues with dungeons

Since the weekly endeavor is to do I think 7 total dungeons, I got on a lowbie and grouped with one person from a guild and we queued and we got nBC1. I went from normal frame rate to single digit frames when combat began. Others in my group had fps issues as well. I ported out of the dungeon to a home of mine, my fps returned. I ported back to the delve, at first my fps returned, then immediately dropped back to single digits. I barely was able to complete it, thank goodness I was able to mash buttons to summon my storm antro and Wall of Elements. I thought, that may have been a fluke. So I waited a little bit, inventory purged/armor repaired. And entered queue again. I got nEH1. Within 30 seconds my fps plummeted to single digit again. I told my group I was having issues and to please kick me. They also said they were having fps issues. Mine were making it unplayable. When did this start? I used to be able to run dungeons, I've never had crippling performance issues, and the fps drops end immediately after exiting the dungeons. What is going on?

Also wanted to say I wanted to test if it was a being grouped with a person causing it, so when I did the second delve, I solo queue'd with group finder. Also I switched roles. The first delve I was dps. Then I switched roles to heals and changed my abilities around. I was trying to troubleshoot things on my end that may have been the issue. Who knows.

Same issue in nBRP (normal Blackrose Prison). During the last Boss fight the frame rate dropped so low I thought the game had crashed. After the fight all members of the group reported they were having the same issue.

Since BRP is an Arena, could it be linked to Endeavors, because one of the other weekly endeavors was to complete 2 Arenas.

yes, had this a few times recently - unusually low FPS then complete freeze up for around 10 secs then everything rubber-banding forwards.

I did a dungeon (nMoS as a rnd with a premade group of four) earlier without issue, except one person got hit with super high ping toward the end. I got maybe a hiccup in performance but that's ESO for you. I also soloed BRP a few times and got a consistent frame drop during a particular round, but again that's not new or what you're describing.

The first thing that comes to mind is that there is a particular set that you or one of your groupmates is wearing that is causing issues for everyone, like the tricks some pvpers use to make their opponents lag. If it were a server, isp, or setting issue then either every player would have it or only one person out of the group would be affected, so I can't think what else might be causing this.

I've noticed a general lag in dungeons lately just in general. Skills taking seconds to go off, bar-swap issues and the lovely one where you randomly die because all the damage hits at once...

I thought it might be my PC as it's getting older and chugs a bit in the newer areas, but this is happening now in base-game dungeons too.

Not your PC. It's been steadily increasing and more frequent on console as well.

On Xbox, I get frequent lags and stuttering on normal Wayrest Sewers even when its just me, bear and companion. I sometimes wonder if I'll be able to complete the dungeon.
