About a week ago i was looking at some of the sets currently in the game and sadly not many of them are themed around creepy crawlies, while spawn of maphala is one but it's just to janky to use, so i brainstormed some sets that're based around various terrifying critters, maybe zos will take notes from these but i'm not holding my breath but hey have a look!

Spawn of Maphala Retrain

(1 item) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
(2 items) When you deal damage with a area of effect attack
you create a web for 10 seconds that deals 202 Poison Damage every 1 second to all enemies within 5 meters
and reduces their Movement Speed by 50%. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage

Spider Whisperer's Band

Mythic Ring

(1 Item) Permanently summon up to 2 spiderlings to aid you in battle, their attacks will cause physical damage and will
occasionally use venomous fang to deal poison damage and additional damage overtime but while it's equipped
your max magicka and stamina is reduced by 30%. When ever one of the spiderlings die they will be resummoned once every 10 seconds.

Chaurus Tamer

Medium Set

(2 items) adds 860 weapon critical
(3 items) adds 860 weapon critical
(4 items) adds 1487 Physical Penetration
(5 items) When you deal damage with a poison attack you summon a chaurus reaper at the enemies location for 15 seconds,
its attacks will cause 620 Poison damage and will alternate between ravage, reaping brood and spine spin once every 4 seconds.
The Chaurus can only be summoned once every 18 seconds.

Touch of Necrosis

Medium Set

(2 items) adds 129 Weapon damage
(3 items) adds 129 Weapon damage
(4 items) adds 860 weapon critical
(5 items) When you deal direct damage with a Blink, Charge, Leap, Teleport, or Pull ability, you summon a necrotic hoavor at the enemies
location that after 2 seconds explodes, dealing 2000 disease damage in a 4 meter radius and causing additional damage overtime,
if an enemy is hit by the explosion while afflicted with a poison effect they're movement speed is reduced by 30% for 8 seconds.

Maphala's Herald

Light Set

(2 items) adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(3 items) adds 860 spell critical
(4 items) adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(5 items) When you deal direct damage you have a 33% chance of summoning a spider daedra for 15 seconds, its attacks will cause 550 shock
damage and will alternate between Lightning storm and Lightning onslaught while using sticky web whenever it is summoned the web
persists for 10 seconds and the spider daedra can only be summoned once every 16 seconds.

It seems all well and good with nice ideas, except for the mythic item.

It has actually no downside at all for stam players, halving mag. Stam players don't need a lot of mag, anyway, so, that one is a no-brainer.
It should have a general downside, like all the other mythics.

I'll get that figured out with a fix

What if it cut both resources by a 3rd? Or what if it increased poison damage done while lowering all other types of damage?

It is a pretty odd penalty for a set that would do physical damage.

I did end up updating the penalty a bit to make it more balanced

Seems effectively more balanced to me, that way. The downside is big, but it's free damage that does not require skill or imput, so, the downside ought to be big.

I'd test it, if it was existing ^^

It would be amazing if it existed in the game, not gonna lie. ^^

Makes me wonder where the pieces for the mythic could be placed? That's one detail i didn't look at.
