Thank your Microsoft Overlords. It works heavenly on the new Xbox. Blows my mind I don't even get load screens any more between zones just transitions instantly it's insane.
It's not really worth it to me, I prefer fidelity over performance mode right now simply because I still have issues swapping bars and/or skills aren't going off in either mode, and I'd rather not look at a blurry scene while I'm playing. I'm usually over 100mbs speed, so I doubt my internet is the issue.

There is decreased image quality in exchange for more power, that's how performance mode works. Performance mode feels great for the most part though, it's just same desync issues because of crap servers.

It totally depends on your vision, your tv, and how well you can perceive the resolution difference.
On a 55in television it can be quite clear the difference between 1440 and 4K when up close. Of course the farther away you are from the tv the less you notice.
I now switch between the two modes. Combat is in performance mode while taking in the land/home decoration/outfitting is in fidelity mode.

True. I have a 43 inch and i cant tell the difference but my tv is 4k HDR its a budget TV.
