today i was doing my writs and noticed that i have not gotten a master writ in well over 20 days of doing my writs every day. (equipment writs only though). i have max level crafting skills and spent all the skill points needed. i've gotten master writs before. but recently i can't seem to aquire ANY, what could be the problem? i have a good amount of traits researched. not alot of motifs though. maybe that's the problem?

To me it happens kind of the opposite,I get a lot of writ books lately for blacksmithing and clothing, the only rare ones in my case are jewelry books.

    Could be poor RNG.

Motif knowledge definitely plays a role in chances to get master writs, though, as does trait knowledge.

My 9-trait crafters tend to do fairly well with pulling master writs even though most know only 15 or so motifs (the racial styles and purple books, plus Imperial on some toons and cheap motifs like Skinchanger and Hollowjack, from back when it was still a regular drop).

ETA: motifs don’t affect chances at consumable writs. Provisioning writ chances are boosted by knowing more recipes on that toon, and enchanting is influenced by how many runes you’ve translated. Alchemy is affected by knowledge of the traits of ingredients, but I’ve been asking support for ages with no response whether the DLC ingredients that don’t have achievements impact the chances at master writs.

That's pretty strange. On my PC EU CP level mains (two, one on each account) who don't know many motifs yet, I average around 7-8 master writs a week. On my PC NA mains plus one other CP level character, it's about twice that.... PC NA both accounts know a lot more motifs though.

Bad RNG patches usually break long before it's been 3 weeks, in my experience.
