I dont know how good of an idea it was to not fix guild chat while forcing us to camp nodes in shadowfen on patch day for hours.

Been sitting in silence for three hours cause im too afraid to relog and miss my spot. Im sure im not the only one.

Does anyone else think node leads was a great idea? Do tell!!!

Don't camp on nodes. Figure out a big route that has nodes and run it for an hour or less at a time. Do a little farming of other mats and monster slaying as you go. A lot better than sitting in silence for 3 hours and stressing about missing a rez. Worked for me.

I was on this morning and ran a route twice around shadowfen before I had to drop off for work, maybe 30 mins while also looting other nodes, and found 20 water and water plant nodes. Unlike PC, the only way people can camp nodes is if they find them first. There are no in game add-ons that direct you to them. So just running around the zone will get you open nodes to loot. And what is the respawn timer, like 2 minutes. So in less time it takes to camp a node for 20 respawns, I circled the map twice, found 20 nodes and a lot of other resources on top of that. Plus ducked into the refuge and got that lead.

"No one is forcing you to farm nodes for hours or else miss out on the lead!"

    Yeah...about that.

Come Midyear Mayhem in a couple of weeks, all we're gonna hear in these forums is "ZOS is forcing me to go to a PVP-enabled zone for event tickets during a PVP-centric event. Oh, no, how could ZOS do such a terrible thing? I can't miss out on my event tickets!"

Just, ah, be consistent in your arguments, please.

Uh, you're assuming they're AFK. I can tell you from personal experience that at least some of them are standing there waiting for the node to spawn so they can check it without looting it, then standing there while other players come along and check it. Sooner or later someone will take it, and it will respawn, at which it all repeats-- so-called (by you) "AFK player" checks the node but leaves it unlooted, others come along and check it, then one of them loots it (sometimes the very first person to come running along). And then all of the players who are running around like mad will start trying to taunt or badger the ones who are waiting patiently by the node, firing skills at them, dropping mystery meat at their feet, etc.

You can pick apart my post with the forcing comment but if youve been playing since seven am you know what im talking about. The zone chat is toxic and people "steal(there is no stealing nodes lol you will say)" nodes from campers waiting patiently for a chance at a lead.

Its quite toxic and the requirement for leads in nodes lacked foresight. Its a crappy first day for my first release that ive been present at. I was looking forward to a reasonable chance at a lead and moving on with the rest of the content but that hasnt happened. Guilt trip me for wanting something or shame me for calling it out as a toxic situation but thats your opinion and you are entitled to it. Congratulations on getting your lead.

Everyone has their own idea of what’s considered toxic. Some people think “stealing” a node is toxic, others think camping a node not expecting anyone else to be able to loot it is toxic. You decide.

Lol im talking about zone chat atmosphere being toxic. I understand not everyone cares about whether someone has a claim to something but the way people are talking to each other is cringe.

Whatever. Im moving on from here as its basically being silenced for having a complaint by other players or being backed up on my complaint.

    Good job ZOS.

Also, voice chat is messed up after relogging. Its gonna be a good day.

Nodes don't belong to anyone. You can't call dibs on a node. You don't own a node just because you are standing on it. And no one is forcing anyone to farm these for hours at a time.

I just heard yesterday for the first time ever that it works this way. I told in my social guild and nobody believed me it would work like that. I'd expect most of the players don't know it works this way. The best way it seems is to group and share a couple of nodes. The last person to look into them would loot them, so the whole group can wait for respawn.

I can speak only for myself, but the other day when I was camped by a node for several hours I would check it as soon as it spawned, then leave it unlooted for other players to check.

I even went so far as to jump up and down by the node and /say "here is a water node" in zone chat-- I used /say because my understanding is that it has a more limited radius, so I figured players in my area would see my comment and hopefully see the caption text box above my character.

If players came by and then paused to see if I was going to react, or saw me and immediately turned and ran off, I would /say "here - i already checked it" so they'd know it was my intention to let them look at it, and they'd come back and check it.

Then there were players who would come up and loot it without waiting to see if I was going to react, and after looting it they would stand there firing skills at me, or get up in my face and do a combat buff, as if daring me to take offense at the fact that they'd just looted the node.

You decide which party was being toxic.

But camping by a node is so boring, I can't do it for more than a little while before I have to start running around killing mobs and farming mats, or head to Sanguine's Demesne to farm XP, etc.

Last night I found a different node that's much more out of the way, and if I camp by it there is almost never anyone else who comes by, so at that node I've just been looting it as soon as it appears in order to make it respawn more quickly. Meanwhile I've been /zone chatting with everyone.

By now the zone chats on PC have cooled down to where people can talk with each other about safe topics in a non-toxic, friendly environment, such as discussing the relative merits or demerits of other Elder Scrolls games.

But for those of you on console, it's probably going to be several days before tempers cool down and enough players resolve to work together cooperatively to where the zone chat is no longer so toxic.

I'm not going to guilt trip you or anything. I've already said that this was about the worst idea ZoS has ever come up with. However, I do have a question that perhaps you should be asking yourself. Why do you need the lead now?

Possibly, and the same answer applies. No one is forcing anyone to play PVP. There are other things that people can do.

Yup. I'm not doing either thing - no use for mythics, and even less use for pvp. I'm sitting on 12 tickets on each account both PC megaservers, and not interested in the mount. I'll do what I have to for the house, and then what I have to for more tickets for the morpholith pet (which I actually really like).

I also like to leave my accounts with 12 tickets heading into a PVP event so that I can ignore the PVP and just claim my special feather, or whatever, that comes with the event.
