starting to get the first companion quest

If you don't want to do them yet, you are unable to access the companion's menu option. Basically you are forced to pick up their quest if you want to customize them with that character. I've already done it a few times already and I don't feel like doing more of it right now. You can't bypass it, either accept and have it sit in your quest log or switch characters to access their menu. Can you make this optional in a future update?
