vMOL backroom synergy intermittently broken

Ran vMOL on 6/6/21 around 7pm EDT: We had 3 players in the backroom, within the same run/instance, state they cannot use the "eye of jode" synergy to expose the khajiits. Seems to happen randomly to different individuals, happened on first run to me when boss was on pad 3, then happened to two other players on another attempt on pad 5 (same instance/run). Once the player comes back to the main room and dies then the next run the player was able to use the "eye of jode" synergy.
Hope this is not going to be an on going new feature of vMOL. Will be running vMOL again in the next week will keep this thread up to date if it happens again.
