    A vague "backend issue" response was posted prior. If I had to take a guess, it has something to do with database problems pertaining to the companion gear, settings, etc not being saved properly in certain situations (logout, etc). Just speculation fwiw, but that's what it says to me. Hopefully ZOS can give an official statement, but seeing how communication has gone this last week (and the last few years if we're being accurate), I highly doubt we will know any details, and plus, they don't owe us anything if truth be told. I always get nervous when "maintenance" happens and agree that usually a "fix" where one thing is corrected, then other problems start to happen. Fingers crossed. :#🤞

    The fix for block bug and companion gear is for the 14th. This fix is about something else. Typically, when the servers are taken down with no notice (less the an hour) it is due to an exploit.

    Extended maintenance, but they are not fixing the block bug.

    Backend to me means something functional other than code. DB, server hardware, network...

    Whatever it is; I wouldnt expect a patch note.

    Not to be that guy, but "backend issue" is about as vague as you can get without actually saying "we're not going to tell you".

    As owners of ESO, ZOS has proprietary rights to not discourse certain information, for the benefit and protection of the corporation and their assets. They don't actually have to tell us anything and they can take the server down whenever they deem it's necessary. It's covered in the TOS that you signed but probably didn't read when you first logged on to ESO.

    As someone else said, it might be an exploit. It feels like that to me too, although due to lack of information, we have no way to confirm, It's just speculation based on past experience where the server was taken down to address an exploit.

    PC-NA since 2015. Tired and unimpressed.

    So another week with two major issues. :# I am not sure why this isn't being hotfixed, but with console launching tomorrow they already have quite a problem on their hands and are surely quite inundated. Thank you for sharing.
