PvP gear - new system idea

There are never ending problems with gear, especially proc sets, because of balance problems in PvP. They are always or too powerfull for PvP or too weak for PvE. Disabling proc sets was healthy for game, but this is not solution in long term. We for example cannot nerf tank gear over nad over, because of tank meta in PvP. This is so pointless and it always broke game for some players.

So I have idea.

Normal gear should be disabled in PvP and instead ZOS should add 3 new slots (two weapons and 1-item full cloth/armor) for special PvP only gear (something like companions gear). They can recreate some popular sets (especially original pvp ones) and make completely new ones with stats adjusted for balanced experience. It's not only keep PvE in peace, but also is so much easier to balance when you have only 3 items per player. It not destroy build diversity, because ZOS can make hundreds and hundreds weapons and 1-slot armors.

It also makes room for making PvP oriented traits(again, like companions gear) and remove/change Impen trait from PvE.

Why 1-slot armor in place of all 7 body and 3 jewelry pieces? Because we don't want to clutter inventory and multiple gear in storages. With 3-slot system we can have easily change and storage favourite sets. Let's keep more complex system for PvE where unbalanced and OP combinations don't ruin other players experience. In PvP we need less complexity to clean this mess and make working system. This doesn't mean less diversity, because there are endless possibilites to make new and new sets, which we should have with every update.

Of course 1-slot armor can and should have multiple bonuses.

What you think about it?

    Here are my noob thoughts.

While only having to deal with weapons and one set is a very simplified build, having two different gearing systems in the game could easily be confusing to the newer and casual players. While I have seen games that had special stats on PvP gear I have never seen one that required the use of a different set of gear be used for PvP, a set that is not compatible with PvE.

Gearing is only half (well a third) of the complexity of ESO. This champion point system and having access to so many skill lines is where I think most of the complexity comes from.

I have seen players complain about inventory space and this suggestion would significantly increase requirements of shuffling and storing gear.

Well, they just added tons of companions crap and in this system there will be much less needed space for that. It won't be confusing if will be well designed in UI - clear seperation for PvE and PvP slots, visual indications that show "this is PvP only gear". There is no confusion with companions gear.

Also for now, I have in my inventory two full sets for PvE and one for PvP. With this system I can replace 12 pieces into 3, so for me - it's much better option. Usually you don't use same gear for PvE and PvP so for now it's total mess with space inventory. With constant rebalances, I imagine that some people have multiple PvP sets in bank or chests and this is taking a lot of space.

So practically there will be more gear in game, but less in your personal inventory. Problem solved :)

And this a favor for newer players, to show them that we don't use PvE gear in PvP. Base PvP gear should be easy buyable for everyone :)
