CP modification suggestion: Celestial Foci

Currently there's 3 CP trees, each with 4 open slots for 'Slottable' CP. Without slotting the 'slottable' node, you gain 0 benefit, regardless of the number of points spent.

There's a few glaring issues with this, particularly in the craft tree with an overabundance of micromanagement required to benefit from these nodes during different activities.

Additionally, going forward, these slottable nodes must always be at the end of a tree, or unconnected with progress. This is currently not very limiting, but as the system is expanded, it will become more and more difficult to introduce slottables naturally into a CP line without having to constantly rework the placement of nodes.

I suggest that we change CP slots into CP Foci. Keep the number of Foci equal to the number of slots.

With CP Foci, ALL nodes you unlock grant you a bonus at all times, regardless of if the node is 'slotted' or not. However, if a player chooses to slot a node into one of their Foci slots, that node is drastically improved.

For example, using a made up node in the Warfare or Fitness tree:

"Critical Focus: 5 steps @ 10 CP / step. Each step grants 2% Critical Strike rating. If slotted, you deal 25% more critical damage."

Or
(Can't remember the name of the node, its bottom left Fitness)
"Discount Dodge Roll: 1 step, 50 CP. Your next Dodge roll is reduced in cost by 75%, this node has a 45 second cooldown. If slotted, the cost of your next dodge roll is reduced to 0 and the cooldown is reduced to 30 seconds."

You could also allow slottable abilities for nodes that a player may not want or need that adds a new functionality to the node.

For example, in the craft tree

"Inspiration Boost: 5 steps @ 10 CP / step. Increase your Inspiration gained from crafting. If slotted, when crafting or improving an item, you have a 10% chance that it will be increased in quality by 1. This chance is reduced to 5% when improving from Epic to Legendary."

My reason for this is pretty simple: it feels bad to grind for CP only to then be required to spend it on things I don't want, OR if I do want them i am required to constantly manage my CP.

I believe the CP system by design leans more towards a passive system than one where every time you go to a new activity, you must first swap nodes all over the place.

Just an idea. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
