I maintain that not being account wide is a money loser. I know I'm not alone when I say as long as they are character-bound, I will buy exactly zero of them. If, on the other hand, they were account-bound, I'd buy two or three - even at a slightly higher price each.

Every char gets 1 freebie,so no biggie, unless you RP on multiple chars alot, and like changing outfits often.

At this point I'm not expecting ZOS to ever change it.

I also suspect they would actually make more money if they did however, because my impression from various discussions is there are far more people who don't buy outfit slots because they're character specific than people who do buy them for all their characters.

Under the current system I think the most I'd ever consider getting is 1 slot for 1 character, but even then I go back and forth on the idea so I've never done it and likely never will because I'm not sure I'd get enough use from it to justify the price. If they were account wide I'd have bought two or three at least.

I maxed out slots on my main character when they were 50% off. I kind of regret it, but that's life sometimes.

Now I'm at a point where I need a small handful of outfit slots for a few of my characters, but I refuse to buy them at full price. Even though I have the crowns saved up, the buyer's remorse is too great at the current price point.

What year is it? This is not news. Of course it's a cash grab. Everything in the CS is a cash grab. Did you have some source that lead you to believe this would change?

Why would it not be? The Crown Store is primarily aimed at those who don't subscribe but who still need to generate some revenue, while subscribers get monthly crowns for any essentials anyway.

Except 💎 exclusives, then the 1650 Crowns doesn't do much unless you want to buy 4 crates in hopes you get dupes. I rarely see anything worthwhile to buy with Crowns tbh, it's usually the same stuff over and over which leaves ...crates again. Store is aimed at every single player which is why all the fancy cosmetics are in them imho. I have to wonder though, if ESO was released as "One Tamriel" at launch, maybe the whole sub-required thing would have went a little better and monetization would have been a secondary concern for ZOS. Who knows really.

I just started watching Mythic Quest, and one of the first few episodes is about Mythic Quest’s version of a crown store. It’s so funny! And I love their community manager!!

Yes, but why should this particular item be both expensive and limited in scope?

I subscribe to ESO Plus. I probably would have bought one or more of these if (1) they were not so expensive, or (2) they spanned all characters on the account for that price.

Which brings us back to the top of the thread... They are still not account wide?

I was going to buy a couple of outfit slots the other day, and as I was hovering over the buy button I noticed "for this character"

Instantly decided not to buy the 5 slots I planned to.

Please make them account wide! I didn't know they weren't when I bought them on my first character. I was so disappointed to find out they were not account wide.

If it was a recent purchase and since you didn't know you might have some luck getting a refund by contacting support, never hurts to ask... On topic, yes, even after a dozens of pages thread here in the forums and many outcries (not mention the wording on the original description was vague and misleading) they never once adressed it so I wouldn't hope they might change this in the future or ever.

lets not forget in same price of single outfit slot per character while we can have up to 18 characters.... we have 1 dung dlc, we have additional character slot! we have class from old chapter, cosmetic pack which are even cheaper! cheaper personalities

as crown store itself is overpriced with many things if not most, outfit slots are totally ovepriced in compare to literally everything other in it as these slots are just per character instead for account...imagine buying warden or necro class unlock only to be for single use or getting just half of dung dlc pack - so single dlc dung for 1500 crowns so 3000 crown for single dung dlc

This was a big mistake on ZOS's part. I and many other players would have bought extra outfit slots if they had been account wide. Or at least reasonably priced (i.e., about a tenth of what they now cost).

    Agree.

One of the very few things ESO does better than the single-player ES games is its outfit system. And I enjoy this aspect of games.

But it's obscene to sell them as character specific and at that price.

Yeah. Like the moment they started selling achievement unlocks in the crown store it was pretty much locked in stone that they'd never be account wide as a default, like they should be.

Once something is sold in the crown store there's really no going back.

At this point I regard the system as having only 1 slot per character with no way to get more.

Which makes every other game that much more appealing in comparison.
