Kinda disappointed none of the Blackwood houses are actually in the woods

Lush overgrown rainy forests are probably my favourite type of terrain. Blackwood in Oblivion was my favourite area of the game, and my house was the craftily hidden Deepscorn Hollow, which in ESO is a delve instead. In Morrowind, I loved the Bitter Coast region the best, and spent a lot of time there. In ESO there are no houses there, and Hla Oad and Gnaar Mok don't even exist. I wasn't especially fond of Skyrim because I loathe cold weather & snow, so I spent most of my time in Falkreath hold, as it was the most temperate region with rain instead of snow, and I had my house there. In ESO it is a dungeon instead, and not accessible to otherwise explore. There is Hakkvild's High Hall, but it's on a cold mountain rather than in the forest, and teases mercilessly with that inaccessible gate leading down into Falkreath.

Initially I wasn't very excited for the Blackwood expansion. The Deadlands hold no appeal (yet more fire & brimstone? ugh). No new skill lines or weapons, again. Companions don't really interest me (I hate dealing with pets, escort quests, etc). When I realised the terrain the expansion would be situated in, however, that's what changed my mind, and I looked forward to exploring the landscape and was keen for a cool house there.

TLDR~ So I was looking forward to a cool house in Blackwood amongst the beautiful melancholy woodland. Wizard tower in the swamp. Shack amongst the trees. Something with some surrounding land to appreciate the terrain... but they're all very urban. Was really hoping for something more rural.

I never played Oblivion, but I second this notion. If they make a bare plot of land then I’d love it to be a cleared out grove in the middle of a forest of tall trees where you can look up and see the sky but not beyond besides maybe a mountaintop. I would make my own cottage in the middle of the woods. 🙂

That would be awesome! I love the open plots and love forest! Ideally it would have nature/forest ambient sounds too like The Gornir Estate!

Hopefully there will be at least one more house still to come. Not counting Inn rooms I believe we got 3 houses with Summerset, 3 with Elsweyr (not counting the one they never released) and 4 with Western Skyrim.
