Buff Crit Resist

With CP 2.0, ZOS cut the crit resist you can receive via CP in half, capping most players in the 2600 range. Now there is virtually no way to reach the crit resist cap without using a 2 pc critical riposte or impreg. This limits build diversity more than it is already. While it isn’t a massive issue right now, it will be in the future

Whenever proc sets are readded in June this will create issues because of how strong vicious death is after the buff several patches ago. While we may not know the exact values vicious death will have come June, barring a significant nerf high crit resist will be required to avoid killing your buddies

I’d prefer they readd more crit resist to the current slottable node, but alternatives like buffing the impen trait or the base crit resist players get are also options. Nobody likes getting VD proc’d, so give back the crit resist

I fail to see the connection of Vicious Death and crit resist. You are aware that procs can't crit, yes?
And you are aware that Vicious Death, being a proc set, will soon require you to invest into offensive stats as it will be given the same treatment as all the other proc sets on tomorrow's PTS, correct?
So, how are these things related?

Also there is a new monster set coming to the Imperial City district bosses (yes, you heard me right) that will add critical resistance, so there are new ways to get higher crit mitigation if you feel the need for it.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

    You can't have it all.

Want to be near immune to crit damage? CP + Impreg + Riposte.

Want to deal more damage? Explore other options. Expect to take what you can dish.

Regarding VD procs, it won't kill you if you aren't stacked on other players..

It doesn't limit build diversity. It limits easily covering every base on a single build.

    Good.

Vicious Death doesn’t work in isolation, though. You need a kill to start the chain, and critting can help get the first target down ASAP.

But I agree with the main points here and in the other posts. Using VD effectively takes a particular build and skill, and there are better ways to protect against being a VD proc, such as blocking and not stacking.

I personally enjoy killing other people in PvP. I don't think 10 minutes of going in circles fighting unkillable builds is exactly fun or rewarding gameplay.
Death should be ever present in PvP, to everyone.
Having high resources, high health, mitigation, and strong damage all at the same time has hurt PvP far more than any proc set ever could.

Id rather they nerf the fact that you can block an execute skill(on SnB) that would normaly do 15k dmg ..effectively making it do ~1.5k dmg, while healing yourself to full while someone is trying to execute you.

    PvP only

In my mind, crit resist should be nerfed, not buffed. I think it’s the main reason malacath is so attractive in pvp. Outside of pvp, Malacath seems pretty even with crit, but gives players the benefit of damage consistency.

According to my napkin math, in pvp, even without CP, the average player runs around with about 1800 crit resistance, which mitigates about 27% of the crit damage. If one in every 3 attacks is a crit, and crit damage is at 150%, that amounts to less than 10% damage increase vs malacath’s 25%, and you don’t get the consistency benefit either.

I honestly feel like base crit being removed would benefit pvp as a whole.

    Good.

Except sets that increases crit resist are now mandatory otherwise you have a higher chance of being a vd proc

It only buffs ball groups viability against zergs and I’m sure you don’t want that

I am more worried about the burst potential from crit damage stacking, stam characters and well timed MA procs. With lower crit resists, that 5 second MA burst window can leave a scar ;)

When procs and MA return we will see some interesting death recaps in PvP land B)
