Tips and all around info for the new cp system

InRetrospect
Let’s hear it ladies and gents and people, I took like a month or two off and now I have no clue what’s going on with this new setup. Are there any that are completely useless? What does what? What are the best ones? How does the champions skill bar work? And a little side question, I feel like things changed in the skill lines too, am I right or wrong?

I’m sure someone’s probably already posted a discussion similar but I couldn’t find one after a quick search.

Skills and item sets were barely changed directly, outside of item sets across the board having their critical chance bonus reduced. Almost all the changes are in the CP passives and the new armor passives, as well as everyone getting 16k base health and I think 12k base magicka and stamina (to make up for the loss of the CP bonus to max resources).

CP now comes in passive and slottable bonuses. Passive stars are active all the time, but slottable ones are only active if you slot them. You have 4 slottables per tree. The Craft tree is for economy, crafting, and thieving, the Mage tree is for damage and defense, and the Warrior tree is for sustain and defense and basic combat skills (roll dodge, block etc.).

There are a lot fewer % increases and decreases than in the old CP system, so those are now much more desirable when you can get them.

There are good CP guides online. But none of my DPS characters play much differently, other than being able to use drinks instead of food, so having more sustain. While there are a lot of changes, for PvE DPS the end result is not that different.

Go to YouTube. Hack The Minotaur has a good 20 minute video on it.

The only other tip I have is build to your strengths as a player. Cover up your weaknesses later if you don’t have enough CP right now for everything you want.

The new CP system is extremely straightforward and explains benefits far better than CP 1.0.

Before players relied on CP builds with specific numbers to dictate how they played and as a result few actually knew what their CP was doing for them.

Now you clearly allocate in what you need and the compass directions of each constellation ensure that your within the same fields (Healing on the left, DPS on the right for the blue tree for example).

Okay so that last paragraph was the most helpful outside of the YouTube reference. Okay so can you break it down like that for me? And can someone explain the middle tree for me? There’s these, what, two? Stars that have a crap ton going on in them. Why does the blue tree have so much compared to the others?

Never mind I went to the YouTube and he has a website in which they literally already have metabuilds for each play style. I basically play alone 99% of the time so I figure solo build is what I need.

“All builds are now equal, can I get this through to you?
My 3600’s boomin' with a trunk of funk.
All the jealous classes can't stop DK dunk.”
