Rapid Maneuvers - Epilogue

Awhile back there was a change to rapid maneuvers skill to move it from the first option in the assault line to the fifth.
This was not a popular change, and although there was much discussion on the subject, the official response seemed to be "we like the way it is".

What many (myself included) assumed was that this meant that they did not intend to change anything.

Fast fwd to update 29. Clearly that assumption was incorrect.

While rapid maneuvers has been left where it is, much has changed.

1. Rapid maneuvers no longer grants major gallop.
2. Major gallop has been added to the continuous assault passive
3. The craft tree in the cp system now has 2 new options for increasing speed.

I'm very grateful that these changes have been made.

My biggest issue with the original change was that it took up to 80k+ AP per toon to get the skill back. This has been effectively moved to rank 3 (for gallop at least) meaning it now costs around 8k AP. Much much more feasible to attain on lots of characters, even for those of us who don't like PVP.

There is also 2 champion point stars that will boost speed as well.
- Steed's Blessing: Costs 50CP and gives all toons a 20% speed boost. I've been adding this to all of my crafter alts as soon as I log into them
- Gifted Rider: There's an additional 10% speed boost to be had as well. I think it takes about 100CP before you can even unlock the star, and another 100CP to use it, so you'll need to be at least 200cp for it to be useful, and the reality is that you probably have better things to spend on first (master gatherer, plentiful harvest). But at least there's additional options.

Now there's probably room for argument as to how this is good/bad still. But I'm satisfied. There are enough options on the table now that let me play the way I want without having the egregious amount of unpleasantness needed to get there as before.

So I'd just like to say a thank you to the devs for listening. Even when it felt like they weren't.

(As a side note, I have found a way to play PVP that doesn't leave me feeling angry, so I'll be doing more of that anyways. But I'm still grateful for these changes)

or they could have just left major gallop alone so we don't have to waste that many CPs just to get it back when no one asked for it to be taken out in the first place? yes, I am still salty about it : P

You don't need CP. You can get it back 100% of the time with a skill point at assault rank 3 (doesn't even cost stam anymore)

It's the continuous attack passive. The CP spend is an. extra 20% on top.
