Increased melee range, undodgable and unblockable melee range stun, cheap gap closer ultimate, and it's durability makes it a little more forgiving when making mistakes. My only issues with the class is the way Battle Roar works with the cost of the ultimate instead of ultimate consumed. Means if you have 500 ultimate saved up and cast Ferocious Leap instead of Magma Armor you're missing out on a lot more healing, stamina, and magicka.
I picked templar for my first and main character because it's the closest fit to the character I played in previous TES games, who always uses some destruction and restoration magic. I know all classes have some healing spells and they all have some damaging spells, but the templar ones felt the most similar to the spells I'd typically choose.
Warden is a close second because that's the closest fit to the type of character I usually play in other RPGs.

I just use ESO to chill and relax, mostly solo. Templar is ideal for me, allowing me to use a staff and to self heal enough to do most of the content on my way. I have only one toon for now.

The class just flows the best for me personally. I can time two skills perfectly between fissure, so the rotation feels much less stressful to me. Skills are fun to cast, etc etc.
I can swap out a few skills and easily adapt situationally without incurring a massive DPS loss. Need more heals? Easy to add. Tankiness? No problem. It suffers a bit from the jack of all trades/master of none thing, but not enough to make an impact on my enjoyment.
I dunno how to adequately explain it; it was just a Goldilocks moment for me when I started leveling a magwarden for vMA. I'd only really played on stamNB and magNB before that, and once I got the magwarden up and running it just felt comfortable.
Funnel health feels so much smoother to me than any other spammable.
same, interestingly surprise attack also feels incredibly smooth to me.
Nightblade tank is my favorite tank; it's easy and strong. I also love the siphoning and spectre summoning themes of nightblade, especially as tank
I play and love all classes, but my sorc is my first toon, and holds a special place in my heart. Where my other toons all tend to specialize for one things and rarely budge, my sorc is equally at home in pvp, scrying and killing world bosses, healing vCR, or running vMA.
Hopping onto my sorc is like putting on my favorite sweatshirt-- familiar, comfortable, practical.
I have 17 toons and only 2 sorcs, not because it is my least favorite class, but because I only need 2 to cover dps, healing, tanking, solo play, and all the pvp bases

I wouldn't say that I have a single main, but DK and Sorc have resonated better with me than any of the other classes.
I generally prefer healing in dungeons, and I've found that Necro and Warden have too much stuff that needs to be micromanaged, while the fact that NB's burst heal can't heal myself is a problem, and Templar has just never really clicked for me (in part because I don't really like using Puncturing Sweep for overland questing).
Because I always liked using shock magic & summoning minions for service
Also I find sorcerers, warlocks etc to be more scholar types to research, experiment (like I do irl) so I find their abilities & lifestyle to be appealing
I can't decide on one. My sorcerer is my most played (and my very favorite) but I also really like the necromancer class. I just really like dark magic types of classes I guess.
My first character was a NB, but I only play on her almost ALL the time because she has the most achievements. Honestly, if class change tokens were a thing I would switch her in half a heartbeat.

While I have learned to love DK and got used to the close-range-stand-your-ground playstyle, the true reason why he is my main is because of all the achivements I don't want to regrind. :P
Tho tbh I'm not that interested in any of the other classes besides one-off gimmick builds. And managing pets isn't really my thing.
Mine is Stamina Nightblade (Khajiit of course!), quite simply because the stealthy bow/melee playstyle is my favourite from the TES games, and hence it was my first created character during the beta of TESO. It's of course quite different here since the stealthy combat is lacking but I still find the class kit fun for PVE.
My PVE main day 1 character is a Magica Sorcerer. The mage role appealed to me. But I really wish Necromancers were a thing when I started, I would have definitely mained that in PVE.
For PVP, I have 1 of each stam and mag version of every class, as well as a few others per class for different role/build types in PVP. I think Sorcerer may be my least played in PVP.
I'd have to say my warden tank is my main right now. A big old drunk hairy Nord called Ingmar the Inebriated. He wears a Nordic bather's towel and a turban with the drunk personality. What better way to inspire confidence in your pug groups.
