It is absurd and ridiculous that I have to change zones to get mail updates in this day and age.

Since 2014 after I check my mail once in any zone, I have to LEAVE THE ZONE to get more incoming mail. It has always been this way. Reloading a UI and using a wayshrine don't work. So when I shop in Mournhold, literally every time I buy something I have to rezone to get the mail to come. What's up with this, man? So tired of it. I can't think of a single other game where mail isn't INSTANT and here you are at the top of the food chain with an archaic system.

The mail will update itself eventually. It's not immediate. Changing zones forces a refresh check immediately, otherwise it happens when it happens.

If I take a wayshrine to buy something from a guild trader, then take a wayshrine back to wherever I was-- or, if I'm getting ready to do a master writ, fast travel to a guild hall with all set-crafting tables-- I always get my purchased item(s) in the mail right after traveling, although it generally takes a couple of seconds after arriving before I hear that new mail "thunk" sound. If you're too anxious and check mail too quickly after taking a wayshrine, you might just be screwing yourself by checking it before the new mail has been delivered to your mailbox. Just be patient and wait for that "thunk."

If I'm anxious to get my twice-a-day crafting assistants' mail before I get busy playing and forget about it, I'll go to an outlaws refuge at about the time I'm expecting it to arrive and go in and out repeatedly until I get that "thunk." I know that shouldn't be necessary, since the mail will still be there whenever I remember to grab it, but I like to grab it as soon after its expected time of delivery in case the timer for the next set of deliveries starts when the mail arrives in your mailbox, so I want to make sure to force its delivery as soon after the expected time as possible.

/reloadui works for me MOST of the time. Ik its dumb but it could be worse. Some mmos have a hour wait time lol.

The whole point of this post is you shouldn't have to do this. There is absolutely no reason for the mail to function like this. Especially if it is a bug. It needs to be fixed instead of forgotten like so many other bugs in this game.

If you open mail, even though it says 0 mail, it will pop up. I learned that recently in zone chat of all places and it works almost every time.

There needs to be a “get mail” button to click just like in your e-mail inbox.

I hate having to switch zones just to get mail when I’m in a hurry to log out.

In my experience, it used to be worse.

Sometimes at busy periods of the day/night, you notice the issue more and do have to change zones sometimes. But in general, I feel its improved, often all I need to do is open up the messages and that is enough to have it load in.

But yeah, its an annoying issue cos if you are shopping etc, often you dont want to change zone, your busy in that zone. It wouldnt even be that bad, if it were not for the several minutes you sometimes have to wait in load screens.

This, an button who send an call to check for mail makes sense just like email clients have.
