Looking for Tips on Choosing a new PvP Alliance

Basically I'm returning to ESO after taking a much needed break for awhile. Most of my friends have left the game, most of the old guilds I was with are long gone. I am therefore, looking for a new Alliance to game with and am simply not sure who to choose, this being AD, DC or EP. I can think of past reasons to like/dislike each of them, among other things. Seeing how the idea now is to reforge everything, everyone starting over, figure I might just do the same. So how 'bout it? Which Alliance should I support and why? Serious/Silly replies are just fine, tell me what you think. Thanks :)

Yellows are known as the Urine Stained Yellows (change the word urine though)

Blues are the smurfs. (Blue supremecy, blue blood runs deep)

And the reds aren't known as anything.

Disliking or liking an Alliance is not reason to pick which to be on. For PvE you can do any storyline in any order you want. For PvP people have alts or can buy Alliance swap tokens. There is no reason to pick an Alliance based on 'feelings'. So start with the race you want to play and fill out the rest.

Pick a race you like for your character and you get the alliance glued on it for you, no decision needed.

For PVP the Alliances are all so similar that you may as well just choose the colour & symbol you like best.
SO the choice is simple. Red Dragon > Blue Lion > Yellow Bird. :D

The primary reason for me to pick a primary alliance was that I found a PVP community that I enjoyed.

It depends on what platform and server you play, also it can depend on what time of the day (or night) you are most likely to be active. Will you play cp or no cp and do you want to be faction locked. My main account is all AD because I liked their faction quest and as I had the Imperial Collectors edition of the game from start unlocking both the Imperial race and the possibility to have all races to chose from. During the Beta I tried the DC and the EP factions and I did not enjoy their storylines as much as the AD one.

On my second account I have characters on all alliances but that account is mainly used to store junk from my first account :D

state your platform /server/campaign. Otherwise you won't get any useful answer here, only super abstract/philosophical or just lore-based ones.

    From PC/EU/Non CP:
DC - best ball group here, best annoying smallscale gankers xd
    EP - best small scale, best bombers, best gankers, best faction who can take Emperor during evening prime time;
AD - well, despite they are kinda worst at everything lol, they usualy just win campaing XD. Mostly cuz of so called PvD (Player vs Doors)

People will type here why their alliance is the best, in reality, they all do the same thing, they even say/phrase same ideas thinking other two dont

(Purple alliance!! Green alliance!! Orange alliance!!)

Plenty of intellectual theories about the 5G towers other 2 alliances plant in their zones so they lose a campaign etc

Even the objectives are same, so I'd say pick your flavour

    *****

I picked AD and I love AD because even before ESO, I admired magic, cultural advancement of Elves.

    I also like Queen Ayrenn.

She is an adventurer with an open mind and not afraid to show her mer side which has emotions, too.

    I find her very brave

When you look at most advancement came from mer communities like Ayleids, Dwemer, Psijic order, magic, mages guild etc all mer creation so I think they will do a better job than humans if they were to be ruling Tamriel

    *****

I also rolled a few EP & DC chars to be able to play with friends I made in other alliances, I sometimes play with them in unlocked campaigns or do monthly transmute farm

    [snip]

You pick what you like the best

    :)

    roll 1 of each
play each for a few hrs/days/weeks
decide which community you get on best with...

    repurpose the other 2...

I may be weird but to give you a slightly different answer, go red. Because of.... the map. An awful lot of the action in cyro focuses on the three main marches. With EP you'll spen dmost of your time fighting either along the Chal-BLK-Aleswel axis or the Alessia-Bridge-Sej-BRK run. Way more fun than the Ash-Nikel-Roe set up which you'll spend half your time on as yellow or blue.

ps. Also means you can do dark elf. Most flexible race by far.

    If PC EU go DC:
    - On CP campaign you will have less ragewhispers [snip], unless you think they are funny then join whatever.
    - On No-CP campaign DC has like 10-15 ballgroups while AD and EP both only have 2-3. As a pug it's safest to play DC.

If you want to win campaigns? Go AD or EP. It changes a bit per campaign who is most present and thus will win, but AD has a morning cap zerg while EP has a nightcap zerg. Though take into account that during the more popular times a lot of players don't play for the campaign anymore but for temporary wins/fun (after all these years they're just looking for fun PvP, campaign doesn't really matter because 0 rewards).

Join the Glorious Red Army, today. Already many of your fellow provincial men and women have already signed up to do their duty to motherland. Will you cower, supping mother's milks while better lads and lasses make names for themselves defeating the snobbery of the yellow bellies and blue waffles? Why, just yesterday another great victory was won at Ale'swell keep(casualty count pending), we are marching all the way around. The throne belongs to the glorious red army! The only question is; will you be there?

    Good info

Really appreciate your feedback everyone. Will review what we have here and make a decision soon. Anyone new to thread is still more than welcome to participate.

One of the reasons for doing this is because I have so many characters and the multi-faction model just doesn't seem to be as feasible anymore, especially with some of the 'noise' it can generate. So really just looking to move everything in-house, under one faction.

From what I've seen from zone chats in Cyro (PC/NA, CP campaigns)-

AD: Players berating other players in zone chat for being worthless
DC: Disorganized chaos, players are usually trying to organize the whole zone at once without a whole lot of grouping
EP: Doing a pretty good job of getting stuff done.

I was a loyal AD player (Bosmer life) for a long time, and the zone chat can get pretty gross. I switched unhappily to DC when I made a Breton magden with the intent of just using her for vMA but ended up loving her, so I switched to DC b/c I didn't have any race/any alliance. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the DC zone chats.

I've had by far the most unpleasant experiences against EP players, so I was really hesitant to make an EP character but ended up doing so so I could run with EP-loyal guidies. I was really, really surprised at how pleasant the zone chat was. EP seems to have the most hardcore loyalists, and it seems like they look out for and respect their own.

This is just my experience, of course, and it's not that cut and dry. Honestly -and I hate to say this- I'd recommend EP because of the camaraderie I've seen.

Others may say their experiences have been the exact opposite, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

It is more feasible than before actually, we have 2 unlocked campaigns

[snip] because as an adult who purchased the game with real life money, you are free to play it where you want, when you want as long as it is not against TOS

No one holds the right to scold you (noise you) about this because of a fictional alliance

I personally never received any "noise" about this from anyone, people actually said "welcome to EP/DC" when I played with them, they know I'm AD originally :D

But then again, I mind my own business and dont do stuff like trolling, toxicity etc in zones

    [snip]

Pick the one/ones you like :)

Yeah it kind of sounds like you're trying to make this into some kind of personal thing about me.

I appreciate your thoughts and your time in responding but I don't think you understand where I'm coming from. Normally I wouldn't say anything but I'm just trying to have a friendly discussion rather than jump in and start ... killing players and liberating Tel Vars. I would rather see how things have changed than repeat past instances of wasting my time with genuinely mean-spirited people who frequently produce random, wild and exaggerated insults in zone chat without prejudice, especially over very minor things. I just wanted to give everyone a fair shake first. This is out of kindness ... to myself and for others as well.

Noticed you didn't really answer my question though ... judging by your avatar and the tone of this post it wouldn't surprise me if you were an AD Player :) Which truth be told is part of the reason why we're having this discussion although, I suppose is not necessarily for certain.
