Black Drake Villa - Relic of the Sentinel

Has anyone had the secret Relic of the Sentinel reward drop from the fourth/ final secret boss (Sentinel Aksalaz) in Black Drake Villa on regular Veteran, or does it have to be defeated on Hardmode?

I have beaten it three times on Veteran but it hasn't dropped for me, so either it only has a chance to drop from the bonus chests or it can only be received for completing it on HM.

I got it on my first run on normal, and IDK if the trop is guaranteed.

Someone in my group got it on normal the other day, so it's definitely possible for normal.

If there is only a chance of it dropping from a bonus chest then it does help doing it on the more difficult modes.

Completing it on normal spawns one bonus chest, Veteran spawns two, and HM spawns three.

Completed it 6 times on vet hm, 1 time vet non hm, 1 time normal. No one got it at any point.

It just dropped for me on normal on my 2nd or 3rd run (1rst run on the lucky character). We killed all the bosses. And we found 2 bonus chests.
