Alchemist Surveys... where are the mushrooms?

I thought the forums would be full of threads about the new patch, but why not throw in something completely different, something which I think is a good and non-controversial idea:

Why are "alchemical survey" maps ONLY for green / flowering plants like thistles, cornflowers, lady smock and bugloss?

Why not mushroom patches with 6 lots of mushrooms?

Or aquatic alchemy with a mix of nirnroot, water hyacinth and potable water?

I was thinking the same thing. Why only some of the reagents?

The only way to get mushrooms "for free"* is to spend a Skill Point on the Dark Brotherhood passive skill that lets you use the "silent supplier" or whatever they're called. They will be found in any Outlaws Refuge and can be used once a day (or every 20 hours I think) to get one of three offerings, the first if which is usually alchemy ingredients for making poisons, although once in a while it will be an Alliance potion.

* Edit: Meaning without going out and farming them yourself, which of course is also free.

I did some basic research on shadowy supplier drop rates and it was found to drop reagents 60% of the time. I found it worthwhile to unlock shadowy supplier on my crafting writ minions (alts) since the supplier is in the entrance of the refuge near the writ turn in location in Vivec City.

Didn't a lot of them used to include water nodes? I'm sure I used to get the various waters from some alchemy surveys.

The Rivenspire alchemy survey is on the beach, that one could include some water nodes but doesn't!

If you are after mushrooms then as others have said the shadowy supplier from the dark brotherhood quest line is worth it’s weight in gold. Literally. You are always going to need some mushrooms because they are required for alchemy writs. It also works per character 😈
