Let's talk Ri'Atahrashi world boss again..

Kung-Fu kitty, meow meow boss; whatever you want to call him, but Ri'Atahrashi world boss at the training ground in Southern Elsweyr is, by far, the toughest boss I've soloed. However, I've found the easiest and best way (for me) to solo that pit is to knockout three of the four students and just leaving one student alive. This way, the other three will not respawn, and then it is easier to just focus on nuking down the boss and not hitting the last student still up. Well, it is a bit of a challenge to avoid and heal through their blasts when they flame up, but it it is doable. Surely, the best and easiest way is to have a nice group of peeps and just nuke down the boss; but as during any event with an army of peeps already waiting at a world boss, that is too easy and not challenging.

Yet, of late, I've ran into peeps yelling on zone chat and complaining not to attack the students at all. So, I went and tried to solo that boss pit by not attacking the students at all, but it doesn't work for me (at soloing it, that is.) Well, a couple has boasted they have soloed the boss by the method of just attacking the boss with non-AoE attacks and not attacking the students. As I've said, I've tried that way several times, and I cannot (I repeat, I cannot) see anyone soloing that boss by just focusing on attacking the boss alone. My reasoning is, all four students are spammingly (damn, is that a word, ha ha) blasting you. That's 3k damage a blast times four students; that's 12k, and they are all repeatedly and constantly blasting you at the same time over and over again. No ffing way. I cannot see anyone (no soloing damage dealers toon/player with 18-22k hp) soloing that or how to avoid or absorb the repeated blasts from the students. In addition, Ri'Atahrashi is also attacking you, and his attacks also hurts. Ha ha. Well, now, it may work if you're using Timestop, but I don't have that. I don't even know if such will work on them. I've tried to cc or to immobilize the students, but that didn't even work.

So, even with my hybrid tank with its 20k shield, the students are still ripping my shield apart and draining my tank's hp; and that is with spell and physical buff. I'm not sure, but there has got to be DoTs from those students' blasts as well. Ok, sure, the students supposedly reflect and amplify damage back at you, if you attack them. I have also watched the only youtube video I can find which attempted to explain on how to beat the boss pit. Yet, the OP of the video died like 5-6 times, and his other group of 5 or more, wiped several times before they actually completed the boss. Apparently, in that video, the OP explains in earnest to not attacking the students at all and just use direct attack in the boss. So, I'm guessing those peeps on zone chat got the idea from. Ha ha

Like I said, if you have a group of peeps with high enough damages, then surely, all can just focus on the boss alone and nuke him without touching any of the students. However, I don't see it, and it doesn't work that way for me to take on the boss pit sololy. I've cleared my way, whether, it was just me alone or with another or 2 other players. The only down-side is, there have been times where I have killed off the three students and was engaging the boss; then another player (or two) arrives and killed the last student. Ha ha. Well, of course, then all four students respawned quite quickly thereafter.

I mean.. this is my 2 cents (well, seemingly more than 2 cents here) on how it is easier to solo Ri'Atahrashi. Conversely, if not attacking the students (does really) work for you to solo it, then cool; but, it surely doesn't work for me, nor do I see it ever working that way. There are just too much damages from the students to avoid or negate, and the damages from the boss's attacks, to just focus on the boss while all the students are repeatedly attacking you. Your vMA mag shield or werewolf aren't also going to save you from all the blast damages. Ha ha

    Hello.
    Stamsorc here.
    Negate at spawn.
    Kill 3, damage boss.
Kite until the next wave of students respawn.
    Repeat.

That's how I did it. It took me some time.

If you leave one up... Less ZoS nerfed it they won't respawn btw.

Yep, but iirc the last one always ended up dying at some point, collateral damage. So I kept my ultimate ready for the respawn.

Back around when this came out I soloed it to around 20% before other players arrived.

The key for me was kiting the boss behind the rock wall and keeping him separate from the students as much as possible. And tons of single target damage. The students don't hurt that much if you can keep the boss away from them and not damage them.

Yeah its been a long minute. After collecting full motifs I only poke in if its an event. Other than that hassle of those areas not worth my time XD.

Yep, this. I'm a Magsorc, negate the students, use spammable to take 3 down, leave 4th alive. I also forego any AoE as the last student jumps from time to time and if it jumps in your AoE, it may die. As long as the 4th lives, the students will not respawn.

Oh yeah, for magsorc.. I see Negate; but other toon classes don't have the luxury, and Timestop doesn't last that long. Absolutely, though, in whatever way or fashion, the best and easier method is knocking out 3 students and letting the 4th alive. Then, yeah, much easier to just focus on nuking the boss down. Yet, there are just peeps screaming out on zone chat not to attack any of the students at all, and I just see peeps running around like chickens with heads cut off; while others are getting knocked out by the students' continuous blast barrages. Of course, I don't attack the students while they are grouped up. I move, roll, evade until a student separates from the group, and then I pounce on that one and repeat until there's only 1 student left up.
