Symphony of Blades not teleporting tank to second phase.

I've experienced this twice in a row. My party will be teleported but I will not, then it will give me the message 'Joining combat in progress.' but it never teleports me. I thought the first time I might've dodge rolled at the perfect time and avoided the spell, but the second time I specifically stood perfectly still to see if that was the problem.
Both times I do not teleport, and both times I was unable to loot the boss at the end of the encounter. Once the fight ended, I was able to take the portal to the other dimension, but no such option existed while the fight was ongoing.
I'm kinda frustrated because I've been farming the frozen watcher ice staff for a while now, and now I'm not even sure if its worth it for me to queue for Depths of Malatar because I don't even know if I'll get a shot at the one boss I need for the item I want.
