Gimmie Skin Layers/Options

Split a skin into three layers.

1) the literal effect on the skin
2) the effect on the eyes
3) The "tattoo"/artwork

For example, with Sanctified Silver the layers are

1) the Silver foil itself
2) the blue glow effect on the eyes
4) the black artwork.

Allow me to apply any of the three effects individually.
Or at least, make 1 mandatory, but 2 and 3 optional.

Some of the existing skins would be SO BADASS if we could do this.

Sanctified silver without the Eyes and Native American black stuff, would be HAWT AF.
Dro'Mathra without Eyes and blue stuff would be FREAKING AMAZING

We work pretty hard to get these skins, please give us more freedom to modify them to make them look the way we actually want our characters to look.

I disagree.. those skins are, imo, tied into the lore of the game.. that would get kinda ruined if we got these options.. a dro'mathra skin would just become random skin x instead

Body and face markings should go above vampire skin fading, and more markings should be useable with skins. Just bizzare you can't use Bright-Throat markings on the Bright-Throat skin.

    As for the rest:

Skins are part of the lore?

Sorry, I find that annoyingly nit-picky.

I suppose you mean, "The Dro'Mathra actually look like the skin!"

Yeah that's fine, but I didn't become a Dro'Mathra by defeating Rakkhat in vet. Maw of Larkhaj. If anything I CONQUERED the Dro'Mathra, and thus gained control over their attributes. Therefore it is actually lore-shallow to NOT let me control and tune the appearance of the skin.

Also... nothing in Halls of Fabrication has gold-foil skin with glowing eyes. Nothing in Asylum has silver plated skin with aztec designs, etc.

I honestly think most skins could be removed. Because they look pretty awful and not lore fitting :p

If you for example denied your char bathing in assembly generals coppery bloody (oily?) entrails after halls of fabrication it's on you really, we're pretty lore friendly still!

I have all earnable skins and I'll tell you aside from a small few I never equip them at all as they mostly are fugly as hell. If we had more options with them as the OP suggests it would make things more interesting for sure.

You already control it, by having it.. but the dro'mathra look as they do.. if you want a skin you can time for yourself, it should imo not be that, but some random generic skin from the crown store.. And I would be whole heartedly against that too.. because if we get dyeable skins, it won't take 10 secs before we have bubblegum pink idiots running all over the map

I was with you until that last part. We already have people fully clad in very eye-catching colours. Sorry that fun and entertainment are subjective.

I don't mind people having fun at all.. but everything has a limit.. we are playing a fairly calm medieval game.. people with pink skin in pink towels, just do not fit in.. they have no place in it

I just want tattoos that don't erase Argonian/Khajiit body markings. Default Argonian skin looks like naked old people.

This is a high fantasy setting, not a medieval setting. There was no magic, nor elves, nor beast races in the medieval period. The medieval period was real, and people really lived in it.

    This,
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

This is very medieval, fantasy elements and all.. I stand by my claim that bubblegum pink persons don't belong here

The Middle Ages was... a lot more colorful than you assume. Personally I blame so called "historical" fiction which often have people in this era dressed mainly in drab browns when clothes for commoners were in fact usually a very colorful affair.

Its not a game set in the Middle Ages. Its a game in a different universe.

Really, I would be happy if I could just get my eyes back when wearing a vHoF or vAS skin.

I'm on the fence here. While it would be nice to be able to change tattoos colours, changing anything in the skins themselves seems wrong. Maybe some subtle variations, like inverting the colours of Sunspire Ice-Fire do we can actually see our faces <_<

Though it would be useful to add eyes to this new black-oily skin. It''s weird all deep black...

I am the very model of a scientist Salarian, I've studied species Turian, Asari, and Batarian.
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian, I am the very model of a Scientist Salarian.

I am not suggesting CHANGING things in the skins.
I suggested that the elements of a skin are separated into layers that can be applied separately.

For example. Dro'Mathra, the base layer is the black skin. The middle layer is the blue streaks. The top layer is the effect on the eyes.

slag driver skin is so OP, but would be SOOOOOO perfect if it just didnt mess with eyes.

Note to the artists at EOS, eyes are sensitive.
Eyes convey the whole personality in one spot.
Stop screwing with my character’s eyes! PLEASSSSSE.
