Please help me decide what Stam class to pick for pvp

I have one more character slot and I want to make a Stam pvp class. I have narrowed my options down to stamden and stamplar and the races I want to play nord or imperial. I’m not the best at pvp so I’d like a more forgiving one that has great damage and survivability. I also want to take the next patch into account. Please help me decide which class may be easier to play with great survivability and damage as well as not being “bad” or “low tier” please explain why you picked that class and why it’s better than the other if you want it would really help me decide! Thank you all!

If its pvp and you want easy mode go Stamplar.

Nord if you want to add to its tankiness, Imperial for its ability reduction and a little more health and stam.

I vote “none of the above” because even ASKING this question illustrates that you actually may not know which class would best suit your playstyle - even with 17 characters already. I think THAT is the only question that matters, and it is something a poll of strangers cannot answer for you.

For me, personally, Wardens have always had a bit of an identity issue. Are they about ice? Plants? Animals and uh... bugs I guess? And a big dopey bear that gets not only in my way, but others' as well? Ugh...

It just seems like a weird hodgepodge of "yeah man, we're a real class, honest!" type stuff all crammed together by people who don't really care much for coherent themes, ya know?

I mean, I've got 3 Wardens, and I like each of them; but they're all just kind of focused on one particular warden skill tree/theme I've built them around and I don't imagine most people would want to play that way like I do. Then again, most people probably don't care much about this stuff in the first place...

Templars? They're just solid. They've got a good set of skills/buffs, and a pretty unified identity. They're the badass golden warriors of Tamriel, slinging light and group utility everywhere they go. I don't have a good way to word it, but I just feel like they have more... purpose, I guess? And I just find the actual playing of them more fun, especially in PvP (javelins for the lols, ritual for the cleanse, novas for the huge area maim and stun synergy, jabs for the jabjabjabjab, etc. etc.). It just feels good. YMMV

Wardens might be more powerful all in all (I'm couldn't say definitively), and I definitely do enjoy my specific "memey" Warden builds... but if I'm going for pure competence for PvP shenanigans I personally log onto my Stamplar every time.

Final word? Nord Warden, or Imperial Templar, imo. Choose what you think you'll enjoy more, because the meta is always changing, and most people eventually start to move away from meta and towards what works for them / makes them happy anyway.

It doesnt matter what players choose you to, what matters is what YOU like.
You cannot simply get random char and "be good". You need to pick what suits you.. If you want range buld or close ranged if you want zergling or solo etc

Not sure why no one has said this but stamden is currently one of the best performing classes in pvp whereas Stamplar is pretty much the worst. If it’s easy time on pvp you want then the choice is obvious.

In what universe will stamplar nord be easy mode? Stamden imperial will be the meta of the meta of the meta next patch, unless we see some hard changes to arctic blast.

I agree with this 100%. Warden has no identity, it feels more like a p2w class with random skills slapped to it. Templar is a cohesive class, which had been systematically debuffed. Style over meta imo.

Stamden imperial will be the meta of the meta of the meta next patch, unless we see some hard changes to arctic blast.

    In what kind of build?

Heavy armor snb backbar, warden bear ult (dont use is) health regen cp all the way to the max.
Proc sets of your choice (crimson, syvarahs is meta) malacalth and sugar skulls
You will have easily 5k health regen, insane healing with arctic blast all the afk dmg skills in the game and an pet for LoS.

Stamplar has..... nothing literally nothing except jabbs.

If you want mobility...go Warden all the way. Personally I have given up on Templar for pvp for the moment.

In terms of race - go Imperial or go home, LOL.

Nord stamden for sure, even with the nerf on Nords.

I guess even a High Elf stamden will be stronger than many other toons... Stamdens are just far better than others, especially magicka toons.
No improvement on Cyrodill servers -> no ESO plus renewal.

There have been patches where Stamina Templar had overpowered offense, with the damage on Biting Jabs + Power of the Light being completely ludicrous, but Stamina Warden has been extremely good for the entire time that it has existed. I can't remember a single patch where it wasn't among the tip-top classes for everything except dueling. Unlike Templar, it hasn't really suffered from peaks and valleys from patch to patch, and has remained consistently top notch. Even if the HP-based heal takes some well deserved nerfs, the class will remain quite good. It's totally viable with either stat sets or proc sets, so if the proc meta ever goes away you can just shrug and throw together a solid build anyway (though your survivability will certainly take a hit).

While I don't think Stamina Templar is as bad as some people make it out to be, it's definitely not in a great place for playing solo. Power of the Light being nerfed also hurt the class' offense, though Biting Jabs damage is still pretty ridiculous. It's certainly not something suitable for novices, and even in the hands of someone with a lot of experience, Stamina Warden is overall stronger right now.

Yes, but it requires slotting a skill (Repentance) that's only really useful if you've got bodies around you to get resources from.

It's certainly better than Radiant Aura, but it's still occupying a slot that could be used for another skill that could provide more.

Do you want fun, or an easy time?

If fun, play what you like the look of.

    Easy time? Stamden by far.

no need for a deep analysis, pick whatever looks good for you, get a crimson, a proc set, malacath and become WW. If you feel like making changes get a vates destro staff. Let me know how it goes.

I picked imperial Stamplar! And I decided to respec my mag warden healer to a stamden. But I used the last slot for the Templar and I am having a blast in under 50 pvp but I’m a bit worried about what will happen once I get back to champion

Coolio! Best of both worlds, I dig it.

I'm pretty far from top-tier, so my opinion is heavily discounted here, but; I think people exaggerate how "busted" or "dead" classes are pretty heavily. There's lots of fun to be found with every spec, in my experience. Glad you're trying both out, and I wish you luck in finding the best fit for you! : )
