5 piece armor sets

With the sweeping armor changes this patch will ZOS be adding a light/med/heavy version of each set to TRULY mix/match?

Further, with updates to penetration and critical, when will existing sets that specify spell/weapon be updated to the new standard? (If this has already happened disregard - i dont have pts access)

Without these included now or in the future these changes are essentially a distinction without a difference.

Thoughts?

Probably no change in weights but it would be kewl if you they could add a function to reconstruct into a different weight that way wouldn’t be farming crazy time to get a heavy caalurions chest and it only drops medium (orig set is light)..there are a couple multi weight sets but only 2 I can think of

It would have to be through a reconstruct system as adding 2 more weights to every dungeon and overland set would make getting what you want insane. Also they would probably need to add staffs and melee weapons back to sets they were removed from if they did this

Reconstruct costs are tied to the total number of pieces in a set so every set you have a 25 transmute cost would jump up if you added 10 more uncollected pieces.

Syvarra's and Bahraha's are multi-weight sets, look at those for examples.

What I mean by part of the reconstruct system is: spriggans thorns comes in only medium, if you have collected a specific armor piece of the set in the ONE weight it drops in you will have the option to reconstruct the set piece in a different weight. Not add the other 2 weights to each set forcing us to collect yet more pieces

There really is not need for them to make any of the changes you say cause nothing is wrong. What many do not understand is you can mix and match not only drops sets but also you can craft and also mix those sets in as well. So there really is no reason to change any thing. Be creative you would be amazed at what you can really do with sets now.

What can I do now with sets that I couldn't 3-4 patches ago? Asking because I was away for a while.

Anyway, with what I've seen from the new CP system I'd really appreciate if they unify the crit & pen stats, because I still cling to my off-meta hybrid chars. And because that's a step they hinted at if I recall correctly.

Yeah they have always hinted to having more Hybrid play which is really cool. Like the 3 light, 3 medium with 1 heavy armor set up it comes down to how you break the set between jewelry, armor, weapons and monster types of the gear then do the sets and split them up like 3 of the light on the body 3 and jewelry, then do the next combo 1 body, 1 weapon type and the a jewelry piece from the respective sets. Then do a monster set.

But its a matter of using any combination of the sets to the armor type and hope many of that type you want to use that can give you the bonuses needed.

Trainee, Night Mother's Embrace (Legacy Only), Sithis' Touch, Bahara's Curse, Impregnable, and Imperial Physique. Also, technically, every monster set in the game, but those are 2pc bonuses.

im really hoping they combines crits , penetration, etc together like they started on update 28... but so far no further changes... would be awesome for mixing light/heavy or medium if at least those stats stacks

Yeah - seems like a very half assed move. I was under the impression that this was being done as well and mentioned this in a separate thread i'd started. Apparently not though and just lip service to the idea of hybrid builds.

    Maybe in 2024.

New CP is very hybrid friendly. There are a few dps passives which increase max mag or max stam, but pretty much everything else affects both physical and magicka variants (critical chance, offensive pen, weapon and spell damage etc)

The biggest change to sets recently is the reconstruction / sticker book last update. You now "collect" items when you bind them and once you know say, "jack of the viper" you can go to a transmutation station and "create" it in any crafting trait known to that character for a cost in transmutation crystals. The more pieces you've collected, the cheaper it is, starting at 75 for only 1 item of a set known, to 25 for all items known.
