Character Movement Goes... Wrong

When I am in sneak I occasionally have this issue where my character can't move forward. She can go side to side & backward but not forward. & the only way to move backward & side to side is with my direction keys (but forward doesn't work) - this tends to happen when I am in sneak to feed & I move too quickly before the animation is finished.
The ONLY way to fix is to quit the game (reloading the UI doesn't work)
