What’s the best/worst/ strangest thing anyone’s ever said about your character name/appearance

I try to make my characters unique and slightly meme related. And, I always enjoy getting a reaction from players.

Yesterday I was playing my khajit night blade... name involves a mom joke. I got a whisper about how they liked my character appearance but not my name.

Also, seem to get a decent amount of compliments on my sumo themed khajit “ you want sumo me.” An obese khajit with a feisty personality and monk dressing

I get lots of compliments over my character's appearance even though she might be a stage 4 vampire at times. Like I'm thinking in my head "my character isn't at stage 1-2... Why are you saying she looks good?!?"

I have a couple of unusual ones. For whatever reason, my male characters tend to get more comments on their appearance than my female ones and they can sometimes be... Interesting. I've had somebody whisper me to say that my Warden tank (back when he was an Argonian instead of a Nord) was a 'fine-gonian.' I've also had somebody whisper me while I was on my Altmer tank to say that he was a tall glass of wine.

Oh, and there was the one time I was in Fungal Grotto years ago where I had somebody asking if they (as the healer) got to spend personal time with my Nightblade tank (an Argonian) because he was hunky. That was... An experience. I actually still have a screenshot of that one.

I had a guy call me Garfield for like 10 minutes in zone chat. Like dude, just because I'm an orange cat who likes pizza doesn't mean I'm Garfield.

I get the most complements on my main khajiit (odd time I get some on my argonians), had people tell me Aurorable is very cute name since it's a combo of 2 words (aurora + adorable). Though I've also got some awkward comments about how my khajiit is very attractive...

Some of my more silly chars sometimes get comments too, people find if funny that one of my drunk khajiit is naked with only a broom, bucket and pet rock (sometimes riding around on a stick mount). I've also got some laughs about my one fat drunk vamp khajiits being named Skooma Thicc.

I had many laughs playing as "Spinning Chipolata" the tiny woodelf stamsorc, but not many comments I remember.

I usually get compliments on various outfits, but every now and then people compliment my male argonian. Saying, often in a tone that seems surprised, that he's attractive and hunky. Going by what @Mauin said aswell there are a bunch of people who like hunky male argonians? I don't judge, I agree.

My chubby old breton gets comments too, but those are mainly that people like his appearance and find him interesting/funny looking.

Worst/strangest was probably that one time some stranger whispered me saying my wood elf had an ugly face. Which, after some confused questioning, was based stricly on her face paint. Her face paint made her ugly and this person needed to tell me it apparently.

I guess in passing a lot of players casually assume that I am an Imperial and not a wood elf, so then they ask me why I have antlers on my head, and when I say I'm a bosmer they go huh you don't look like a wood elf 🤣

I had a creepy guy follow me around Mournhold for a good 10 minutes even after I blocked them, they were whispering me that my character was the hottest character they'd ever seen in game and they loved her and they kept repeating that over and over. I wish I was making this up. They kept following me and standing way too close to my character and started saying stuff I can't post here, thus why I blocked them.

I mean she is pretty, but...please, creeper, no creeping!

I did get a wierd but funny comment. They said that volendrung suited my female khajiit. I was thinking that glowing eyes like flashlights suit me? Lol.

Once, while on a short, thicc Nord, I had a creeper follow me around whispering me to dance for him. When he offered me 50K gold I whispered back that I was a fat, old dude. He responded that he didn't care because my character was hot. Of course I blocked him because eww. My wife found it hilarious.

I was tanking a random dungeon on my redguard warden and someone called me an "arab".

Then i was trying to learn bombing on my mag nb and one enemy player whispered that i was "cute". I still wonder if it was about my looks or bombing attempts. Probs the latter.

Not that strange, just really unexpected:

I was in a random dungeon pug, and joined a group of French players apparently. They didn't speak much English, and we didn't communicate. We were running the dungeon when I noticed that one of them was just afking while following me. I found it strange, but pug are pugs right, so I just kept going. Then came the message, in say chat, not party chat, just floating above my shoulder: 'You. Hey. You.'

Oh no, I thought, this is the part they will try to nag me about something, or kick me for not being French, or something. I was bracing myself for something terrible when I asked 'Yes...?'. But to my utter shock, they said: 'Very nice char. : ) I like the look.' I was so shocked and relieved that I actually blushed and stress-giggled out loud irl like 'Ohmygod thankyouuu ' They then said 'I tried sending you a private message, I couldn't'. Turns out they had been trying to whisper me how much they liked my character, but since I was set to offline they couldn't - and I was assuming the worst when they were just about to say something super nice. A great relief, and a fun memory in retrospect.


The character doesn't even look that good (I think it's a pretty basic and common Psijic mage look), although my reaction may mean that the bar for social interaction in random pugs is rather low, usually. So I was honestly surprised.

My Altmer ice Warden gets mud-balled sometimes, but I know it's only out of envy. Her perfect beauty is just too much for some people to bear. I take it as a compliment.

I once had someone stand right behind my khajiit making very vulgar comments, and using a certain cat-themed word for the nether regions I'm sure is censored on these forums lmao. I didn't engage.

I've been asked if i ate enough food that day, and someone else once randomly said to me "*** deluxe 2020" just because i have a skinny character.

I got my share of compliments too but they aren't as hilarious as someone actually getting upset over what you look like.

And then there was that person following my main around and blaming him for Great House Telvanni's use of slaves... At least they knew the lore.

One odd comment I got was while I was busy figuring out where to go next for a quest and someone said my khajiit looked like a furry version of Raiden from Mortal Kombat, lol. Certainly wasn't my intent but they seemed to mean it as a compliment so that wasn't too weird. It only got awkward when they started showing off their character's various costumes and seemed to be fishing for roleplay... I then politely moved on to my next quest for a while, lol.

My female templar healer has a pretty sweet looking witch themed outfit that gets a lot of peoples attention. I've received some real cool whispers from random people over the last year I've had this character in this look. Anyhow... sometime last spring I was waiting for the last of our pug group members to travel in and while I was on the bridge in vHRC everyone there started saying how my character looked like the Wicked Witch of the East (The Wizard of Oz antagonist) because my Sanctuary glow-balls were illuminating her face green matched with my all black evening dress costume & witches infernal hat.

Throughout the whole run most of the group kept bringing it up making jokes out of everything like how my true motive is to kill everyone on purpose and one of the groups pet sorcs matriarchs were my winged monkeys and for me to get it out of their faces, lol...it was a true [Snip]-show of random RP but nevertheless hilarious as everyone seemed to have been drinking. When we finished the run like half of the group wanted to take screenshots...it was pretty hilarious at the time. Unfortunately, since this was just a random pug group put together in Belkarth I've never seen any of these players again, sadly . good times
