I have stop playing this game foe the last 2 years. I was wondering if it was a good idea for casual player like me to come back, was playing WoW for the last 2 years but the last Xpac doesn't appeal to me at all.

Casual content works perfectly fine. Cyro is still laggy and there were bugs with the last DLC that have been mostly fixed. There is also a double XP event going. Not a terrible time to come back tbh

There is a massive amount of content (the vast majority of it) in this game that can be completed by a casual player with minimal effort. So in that regard it may appeal to you.

If, however, you are easily frustrated by bugs and performance issues it may not.

If you're a casual PvE player then returning now would be great, plenty of content and a number of improvements have been made. You will read here about performance issues but they relate primarily to competitive players in Cyrodiil and Trials especially. The best way to see how they impact you, if at all, is by playing for a bit seeing as you already own the game.

As you mention WoW I assume you're probably on PC, but additional performance issues may arise if you're on console, I wouldn't know about that.

Since you have a home and you said you’re a causal player, yes eso is a good game to come back to. Much more content has been added and a new chapter.

Casual PvE? Yes come back.

This is an excellent casual game. Depending you may find overland getting too easy sooner or later but dungeons can fix that for a while.

PvP and endgame PvE has some issues with server performance and stability. Old bugs tend to stay and new will be released at each dlc drop. Do not expect sub game level of service, even with the optional sub (ESO+). Monetization is bit scary but still ignorable, craft bag with ESO+ being the biggest lure. Crown crates of course are to be avoided.

Edit: But for a casual (I'm casual) these issues are just a nuisance. If I knew a better MMO or even a good one with better service I'd play that instead.

Having recently returned and starting practically over on PC after an extended break I have to agree that overall the PVE experience has done nothing but flourished since my original time playing. It has been delightful going through the new zones stories. The new dungeons feel mechanically intuitive and enjoyable, and from what I have been able to run of them (see others mentions of the current issues) trials are a very fun and rewarding experience!

Are there bugs here and there? Of course - good luck finding a game this complex without at least a few though. Are they actively being looked into and worked on? From what I have gathered yes they certainly are. In that aspect things on PC have improved considerably since the issues that came with the Markarth release!

ESO is definitely the game for the single player that doesn't have time to play 24/7 or raid all day long.
There is an incredible amount of content, of story-lines and quests, of delves to explore, of chests to open and crafting to level. You can play slow or fast, put in as much time as you want, but not feel like you're falling behind (like in WoW). You can choose to level a crafter, so you can do all your armour and weapons and stuff yourself.
You can also do housing, if you like that.

I can't speak for PvP, because I avoid that totally.

I enjoy ESO as a single, 'casual' player (though to be honest, I spend quite a few hours in Tamriel each day...), because it lets me play at my own pace. Almost everything can be achieved by a single player eventually and only the raids and the really difficult dungeons need groups.

So yes, it's perfect for the casual player.

Casual stuff fine. Everything else either breaks or works enough to get through it.

PvP... Lol that has been same mess since the game came out.

PVP? I would grab your skull and look you in the eye to make sure you in no way shape or form misunderstood the following words ... NO. and don't come back to later lament about its state, like all these other blind people currently in the game.
