Hello everyone,

I haven’t played the game in about a year thinking about getting back into it cuz I’ll have more free time coming up. Got a couple questions.

What’s the state of the Stam dk class rn? I main a stam dk for pvp running heavy.

Is the game feeling dead? Like are there a consistent amount of people playing anymore like queing for dungeons and pvp?

The game is very active. Right now people are upset because of bugs and crashes, but the sky is not falling. You know how internet people gloom and doom get.

There is always change to classes so you read up on the latest patch notes, and check the various guides.

That's not a very good question to ask here right now. The more vocal are having high tempers cause of some sporadic, but not widespread, bugs and crashing. If you still have the game installed just log in and see for yourself. If you crash trying to log in or after a half hour I'm sorry you're one of them. If not then the game isn't bad at all. Lots of content to quest thru. There's a new Solo Arena that's more forgiving than Maelstrom. Kinda. Also the weapons from Arenas drop on Normal difficulty as well now.

I mean, for PVP, they spent a couple months testing 3 second global cooldowns on all AOEs and they only managed to make Cyro even less stable.
Dungeon finder's been bugging out for a while now. There's widespread bugs and crashes following the latest DLC that launched like one month ago, and no end in sight.

I guess if you just do quests, you'll be fine.

The game has more bugs, freezes. crashes and problems than ever before.

It seems you like pvp so log on for a night and you will do the math yourself.

I would run and check back after another year if there has been improvements.

Much depends on the definition of casual. Someone "just running around questing" is just as likely to have invested the same amount of time and money in the game as someone who does PvP and Trials, yet for some reason those who do PvP and Trials seem to consider everyone else "casual". It's not whether you are "casual" or "hardcore" that determines whether have these issues, it's primarily down to whether you do PvP and Trials or not (and, probably to a lesser extent, dungeons).

@ArchMikem can obviously speak for himself, but my answer to that question would be - by noting the content that players are reporting those problems in.

Multiple Crashes a night, bugs soo bad it makes the game unplayable. Its far more rare to run a dungeon and not encounter this than the alternative.

There are a ton of QoL improvements that were added soo if they ever fix the game you might be pleased

LOL. "Sporadic" in reality means ca. 3 crashes or a freezes per hour.
    Today's record for me:
    08:00 pm Starting Cyro PvP
08:05 pm Blue Screen in Duel
08:08 pm Blue Screen on Reloading
08:12 om Freeze after another Reloading

The last DLC was a DISASTER.
If this continues, Sony one day will ban this crash software on PS4/PS5.

PvP is trash right now. 0 Balance.

Don't bother unless you want to play a proc set 30k health meta build. Boring as hell. Wreck all other builds and If you are a warden you are unkillable 😅.

The overall state of the game is a buggy mess.

If you want to enjoy the story and quest feel free to but don't sub for it.

If you have some money better Invest it in a different game.

Edit: Don't even think about entering Cyrodil you will lag like hell and your aoe abilities have a cooldown now....

I don't think they implemented that particular nightmare. AFAIK all they did was kill solo healing and cut the max group size in half. AOEs may seem like they have a cooldown due to lag and input delay, but they didn't extend the global cooldowns..... yet.

Funny.. stopped playing for a while and was wondering the same.. "is the game playable again" was supposed to be the second question. I honestly miss the game during the week, but after all the stupid changes and declining performance I couldn't stay anymore..

Zos.. please make this game playable again.. I stopped my recurring just to send a message since you ignore the forum..
I ask you kindly, again, please for the love of all that is sacred and blessed by Meridia.

A couple of days ago I blue screened 8 times during a random normal dungeon (WGT). Been running some normal trials with a social guild and the biggest challenge is waiting for everyone to actually be not DC'd so we can loot and everyone gets the drops. My vCRhm prog has been on hold since the Markarth patch because the game is so bad. Alll the other vet DLC progs in my other two guilds are also on hold. Before the Markarth patch I pretty much never blue screened or DC'd.

People often say generally that the game is buggy, but I've played solidly (Ps4) for the last 3 years and the current state is the worst in that time. It is absolutely breathtaking how ZoS can have managed to break so many things in one update.

I wouldn't spend money on it. If you have the game toss it in F2P catagory then bugs are bareable since its free. But once you dish out money... Well they are not providing fully for their services currently.

Progressing trials is nearly impossible because there's a crash nearly every pull but sure they probably aren't widespread if you only solo.

The game is in bad shape if you play at end game or PvP. It's performing okay if you do most other things. Dungeons can be bad, too. My mom couldn't stay logged into to ICP for more than a few minutes at a time.

If you're prepared to come back with a fresh mind you will appreciate the game for what it is, and not be personally invested enough to be offended should an error with the game occur.

I have recently returned in the last couple months and I absolutely love it. There was a recently hotfixed error for what was otherwise a laughably predictable DC when fighting Garron in Wayrest Sewers, though I have heard there is still an issue with ScaleCaller.

Before, I was almost purely a Cyrodiil player. I have not stepped back in, nor would I because the client has changed. I would suggest you consider that also.

If you return, have a monologue with yourself that you know and understand that that mode is limited. It is what it is. Crying about it won't change. You are in control of not being bitter about it, and to not waste your time on an avenue that will make you unhappy - as you will frequently see posts from pvp'ers bleating about something that this game is just incapable of delivering.

I thought to myself, "wow I'm lucky I never crash." Then I did Fang Lair. On the third try of the Caalurion boss fight I finally succumbed to the crash. The recent hotfix says it's fixed the lich fights crashing the game but I have yet to test it out. Someone else can probably provide more details.

I cam back after a year. The game isn’t as broken as the forums say. In other news pvp balance is horrible right now. Heavy armor and proc sets. Took me awhile to change all my stuff around. Still haven’t figured out what to do with mag chars right now.

I ran Fang Lair yesterday (after the latest patch) specifically to test the crash at Caluurion, with my groups low damage output we were at the fight for an extended period of time however there were 0 crashes/client-freezes experienced that run. Both myself and another member of that group had previously experienced repeated issues at the same location prior to this latest patch.

So as far as the crashes/issues - they do appear to be in the process of being resolved!

One does not have to be a Casual player to experience crashes from simply pressing the Log In button, as is some testimonies I've read here so far. These crashes, no matter what playstyle you are, are affecting apparently all aspects of the game, not just people who binge Trials and spend their whole lives in Cyrodiil and BGs.

Because there are a sizeable amount of players not experiencing the issues others are. Therefore, not widespread.
