No Passion for PvP from Zenimax

After all the time i played the game (also with 2 breaks), i just can say just this: It looks like there is simply no passion and responsibility from Zenimax to really bring a well working balance to there PvP stuff!
Especially broken stuff needs to be fixed really fast and not after weeks or months!

All the balance issues are just cured for PvE content. There the classes nearly looks balanced, while in PvP we never were close... More: Since beta its going more and more in a different direction... there are many things, which are just no fun.
Just a short look into PvP currently, its nearly neccessary to wear heavy armor together with a malacath ring and as much procc sets as i can, which also are influenced from that ring too... lol..

I allways liked the challenge to bring outsider classes or ways to play the game to success. It was still fun to make things different, but currently this isnt really an option anymore (just for very few builds); At all its just frustrating, that everybody needs to play just the META, if they just wanna win also a cake. I was a PvPler... now i like PvE more in this game and thats really a dangerous situation for a game, when PvP dont allow diversity like it should!

    I use to think they werent trying but the longer ive been around the more I think they are trying and just cant do anything

    They have been seriously actively trying to work on performance for years at this point. There literally scrapping bottom of the barrel with some of the tests and changes there doing. Not a computer wizard but I get the impression there is something fundamentally flawed they are in a position to change. Because if they could it would have been done long before now. Maybe its that the uppers at zeni media wont pay for better servers. Maybe its the games engine is the issue and they cant fix it without rebuilding the game in a new engine. Maybe its the netcode, we know cyro had never worked right after they changed it with the anti bot patch. Whatever it is, it just seems to me that they would have fixed it if they could before they started trying to squeeze out performance by making so many small changes.

    As for balance, balance in this game is a nightmare. I think they probably have focused a bit more on pve but its not great there either, everything feels the same, its constantly a battle of mag vs stam. honestly ive played this game for a very long time and I would trade this combat in a heartbeat for that we had premorrowind. Theyve just standardized everything to the point where nothing feels unique and theres basically one clear meta you should go with because nothing has its own way of doing things anymore.

    Wish they could spin it off into a separate P&L run by a separate studio within the Zenimax umbrella.

    You cant have balance when you have proc sets. How are proc sets "pvp" when sets fight instead of you? You start a fight knowing that you will have to withstand more than 2-3K damage every second from the enemies proc sets. And on top of that you have a company that releases a mythic item which BUFFS this proc sets!!!! Why P2P classes are so OP? How can you PVP in a dead server where everything has insane delay? I personally quit pvp almost 20 days ago because Cyro is unplayble in the EU server. Lag and desyncs are simply out of control. I will only return to reach tier 1 for the transmute crystals and quit again.

    Its nothing wrong about making money, when they start to bring anything we want from them. At all its also not that hard to bring balance, if you still play the game. You just need to disable elements like proccsets for PvP for exemple. That would kill the tank META and help to go the right step forwards in this issue.
    Then make all skills and passivs useful, especially the class passivs.

    Gamers will like stuff like that and they make profit. So win/win...

    I can say that performance in Cyrodiil has been worse at some points in the past than it is right now, though. The constant narrowing of open world pvp, lower and lower population caps, changes to structures, changes to abilities, backend changes invisible to us: some combination has made a difference. I haven't seen a load screen in the middle of a fight for a while. No recent 5 fps "hope my abilities are firing" inner keep fights, ultimate dumps and all. I guess that's something.

    As for balance, etc, I just don't care anymore about proc sets, the magicka/stamina imbalance, high rewards for exclusively fighting NPCs in the PVP zone, bizarre choices like the existence of Thews of the Harbinger, and whatever they wildly overbuffed or nerfed to hell this cycle. It's whatever. PVP in this game has been spiraling down for a long time and I have zero expectation it's going to suddenly reverse course.

    This is the best they've got. We can take it, or like so many before us, leave it.

    After playing this game 6 years straight and without a pause, the only thing I can says is "are you sure we are playing the same game ?"

    Pretty much EVERYTHING has been balanced for PvP. Nightblades have been nerfed to the ground times and times again (although the last patches show a slight improvement on that matter) because whiny kids couldn't bear being sneak attacked. The assassination line has long been a tank-ish line, with its top skill giving a defense buff. In assassination. Because obviously, when you prepare to secretely strike a mark from the shadow, the one thing you need is more defense.

    Then the Bosmers, whose stealth was removed to prevent stealthy bow builds to be used in PvP. And let's mention their racial skill that has no use whatsoever in PvE. For me, the true racial bonus of the Bosmers is "3 free skill points".

    Altmers, who no longer regenerate magicka, but the lwoer ressource instead ? Typically PvP stuff.

    I could go on, but basically, since Whatshisname became lead of the combat team after heading the PvP teamp, pretty much everything has been made to please PvP players with detrimental effects on PvE.

    In the TESO, what i play, PvP is bad.

    A good PvP would give a hell of diversity for all playstyles. Everything could be going to be successful "enough" to play it.
    What i see and there i agree with you, the base classes are nerfed over and over again and now they just give just a very small reason to play that classes for maybe 50% of useful classskills. There isnt a reason to use more then 50% classskills on any build.. In most cases i see better skills on skilllines i get access on every char. Thats just a bad gamedesign!

    I played other games and i also played WoW 15 years ago. I need to say, the PvP in Wow 15 years ago was much better as the PvP here now... Thats seriously not a joke!
