Do you try to level up your DD as tank/healer for shorter DUNGEON ques?

Yesterday I tried leveling up my stamblade and qued for some dungeons while doing other stuff. I played for 3hrs+ and got 3 ques. In first two of them got bug where you are matched with high CP players for vet dung = had to leave party and pay 2x15 min penalty. On 3rd que I got DC while enterning dungeon... and that was my dungeoneering yesterday lol. For this reason I usually end up leveling ALTs as tank (or healer if I must).

How do you manage?

I always level up all my characters in randoms like tanks.

My first main character was tank.

So it is easy and fast to do for me.

I leveled my DD's by leveling through zones and doing the daily BG/dungeon as a DD, so I waited out my queues. I leveled my tanks with the groupfinder/daily BG. Haven't made a healer yet, maybe one day. But at the moment I really love tanking.

PS: Fake tanking is bad for the game. Be better!

I usually put a sword & shield on my lowbies back bar, along with a taunt so that I can tank random normals in good conscience.

I mainly level SOLO characters that are able to handle their own healing. My focus isn't on group content.

Can't pick the last option because I do understand the poll.

Usually level my alts with master writs nowadays, once I've collected enough skyshards for them. If I do wanna run a dungeon, I usually run a random one with a friend who has a tank since that cuts down a lot on waiting times. Never use tank or heal roles unless I actually have the skills for them, which means I never queue as tank or healer....

If you play tank a lot you can tank even with spoon, naked - for normal dunguans.
I do not believe in fake tanks and etc.

There are people who play bad. Its true. But it is not problem of fake tanking.

In normal dunguan if you have 1 player that is not a potato 🥔 => you pass.

If you are not veterans it is the same - not problem of fake tanking. Just help each other or help group and try to tank.

Healers can tank, they need not do dps and can put shield on.

If 1 dd is good other can tank. You can pass with cooperation like this.

But people think that others must do something for them just because they want.

It do not work like this.

I avoid dungeons till I have leveled up the character and the skill lines I might need before I ever consider using them in dungeons or other group content.

I did that with my recent toons before hitting lvl 50. Normal non-DLC dungeons are easy enough to do without a healer and usually I outdamage two other DDs by a large margin.

I mostly leveled my alts by mob grind and battlegrounds though.

I also level up heavy armor and 1h+shield on all characters by default, in addition to their main armor type and weapons. I craft them full armor set every 10 levels. So when I equip shield and heavy armor, I also equip abilities for tanking - then I can queue as tank if I desire :)

I actually leveled some of my healers as dds in random dungeons, because for me healing a normal dungeon on low level character that doesn't have support skills / sets yet is quite boring.
In my experience it takes 10-15min to get picked. Time which I often use to collect a few skyshards / lorebooks.

I usually avoid the group finder. I can get the dungeons skill pts and Undaunted rep by duoing a lot of the dungeons with my husband. Or I can solo the easy ones. Most of the times I’ve used the grouping tool, I end up frantically chasing people through the dungeon — not fun.

Same. My first and most played character is a tank too.

Super easy to have sword and board on one bar and tank with it while having dps skills on other bar (for random normal dungeons). Queue is instant so no time is wasted. You get skill respecc, attribute respecc scrolls as leveling rewards so it's easy to spec as a DD once I hit lvl 50.

I prefer magicka characters, so it's easy to play a healer. Backbarring a resto staff in open world leveling is little or no sacrifice.

I've even done that with Imperial characters who are slated for possible future use as tanks or whatever.

An guild I'm in tend to have callout for random dungeons, all roles and levels welcome.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Yes the same. And agr on shield and sword is the first skill - it is really easy to get. Kill 1 spider, use 1 skill point :) not a big prise.

Alikrs Dolmens is good exping too, but ... a little more boring.

I just put some extra points into health and equip a frost staff on one of my mag DD's. Queue as tank and cruise. Works great for most of my farming needs.

Queueing as a straight-tank doesn't save any time in my experience, since I so often get stuck with bad DD's.

When i was full tank i even take arena weapon with aoe dps - not to stuck in dunguan forever :)

It really is a big pain for tanks.

I level my characters in guild events, not dungeons, so role is not important.

If I do dungeons on a lower level DD, it will be with guildies so again, no need.

Though when I leveled Undaunted on my stamplar I did outfit her as tank as I don't like to be the DPS in PUGs.

I try and level with mixed skills so it really doesn't matter. It's not like you need all your points even vaguely sanely set up to handle normal content. Only ever queue as a group with guild though - sometimes as tank, sometimes DPS, not yet mastered healer or magdps properly.

Also I find has the advantage that by the time you hit 50 you've got full medium and heavy armour skill, sword/board, 2h and bow.
Too many toons not enough time

Since my main is a healer (with some DD sets for doing overland content), I just made all my alts healers also. This is also fine due to the fact that respeccing is pretty accessible once I get them to CP.

    Biased poll so won't vote.

I run tanks/healers through group dungeons in the queue as tanks/healers.

I run dd's through group dungeons via grouping outside the group finder.

No muss, no fuss, win/win, no cheating by lying about my role in the group finder.

But See, there is another option. Play a healer/dd combo toon. Use one bar for dd and another bar for healing. Slot a healing staff and healing skills on the same bar so that the group can benefit and learn how to do one bar dd rotation and one bar healing rotation. Problem solved for both concerns. You're a legit dd and a legit healer. YW.

If you already have cp, just slot a taunt and queue as tank. It really doesn't matter for non vet dungeons.

I honestly have never been able to level a DD. My first character was a healer and about 4 years ago, I made a tank. My guild knows this so I get asked to log on the tank quite frequently. I don't mind, nice to be wanted/needed.

I leveled a new toon this weekend and queued appropriately as a dps. The queue never toon more than 10-min to pop, and I used that time porting around collecting skyshards and mages guild books.

Even though tanks and healers aren’t really needed in normal dungeons I refuse to perpetuate or support dps queuing for those roles just to e self serving.

If it's a character that will become a DD or healer in the future, I still make a point of levelling s/b enough to get a taunt, so that I can queue as a tank, and have points into health. In this way, I both a get a fast queue and don't inconvience others by fake-role-ing.

I always level as a tank. I only slot taunt and unfortunately am without taunt until I get to undaunted 3 but I am only doing easy dungeons.
I am a tank main so I know the mecs as a tank but normal dungeons fly by quick unless you are stuck with -300 CP players as they haven't got a clue how to do damage, dots, aoe, single attacks. They just light attack 1 ad at a time.
