Maelstrom Arena freezing- PS4 NA

I am on the final boss of the final level and the game keeps freezing. I've spent over three hours trying to get through this but can't. It usually freezes when I have to destroy the Animus Stones. One time it did let me get past that but just barely.
Right now I an just really annoyed and angry trying to get through this. I need one last piece for the set of Dremora motifs. Anyway, if anyone has some advice or a work around I'd love to hear it.
If I quit for a while will it put me back in that level or will I have to start all over? If I have to start over then screw it, I'm out. I'll get the piece from a trader. I'll also miss out on the gold box for arena but it's just not worth the aggravation.
