Constant Buffing & Nerfing

Why I Refuse to Spend Money on ESO
I would love to subscribe to ESO+ but I don't.
I would love to buy the new chapters that come out every year, but I don't.
I would love to buy crowns to acquire new mounts, new outfits and new furniture packs, but I don't.

In psychology and behavioral economics there is a term called the endowment effect. We will automatically overvalue something that we own. The endowment effect creates loss aversion. We dislike losing something we own.

ZOS's constant nerfing and buffing - often of the same trait or item - causes a cycle of psychological pain that I would rather avoid.
More than two years ago, I promised myself that I am not going to spend anymore money on this game despite all the positives it offers.

Just sharing. You could be enjoying bigger margins, higher revenues, more profits if you stop the constant, illogical and random nerfing and buffing.
Here is evidence of the completely arbitrary way ZOS approaches combat design. https://youtu.be/alnT3BZ5qPo

Yes it's getting tiring especially when there doesn't appear to be any logic between the patches, it looks like they are just swinging it.

I guess that's the only way to make the game feel "fresh" for the consumers if there's no level cap increases (and I'm not saying they are the answer).

There is no doubt that the constant nerf/buff futile obsession with 'balance' makes me feel as if I'm building my characters on shifting sands instead of solid foundations. As a result, I refuse to develop the degree of loyalty to this game that I otherwise would. I have no idea when the next patch might be the one that finally triggers a rage quit so I feel obliged to have an exit plan which limits my ability to commit to ESO.

It's true. Stuff that SHOULD be getting nerfed like the proc sets and the absurd beefyness of WW to the performance issues are completely being ignored and the things that aren't considered a problem by the community are being nerfed like new moon set.

Sometimes I don't understand the mind set behind some of these changes cause they make no sense. Would like to see them at least attemp to tweak the proc sets even if its minor and hardly noticeable. At least that way it shows they are trying.

Well, balance changes are a thing indeed, but tbh, I don't mind them.they are just balance changes. The reason I stopped supporting the game with my wallet though, is the performance issues. That's the only reason.

this happned since desingers never play this game otherwise I am not able understand how something like this can pass any impact analysis or common sense check .... but it happned last patch also proc sets "balance" they just remove condition of proc and let it like it totaly destroyed any fun in pvp.. now it time to hit PVE .. I will buy next DLC why not there will be some story content etc. but they hit MMO part of the game for no reason., how many players want to play ligt attack proc meta in pvp? whole forum just *** it.. How many pve players want this mechanics?? It is like if u play healer so u can just delete your character since it will not be needed in most of the PVE content... GJ ZOS...

Yep! I feel ya... It has been tough to like the game. I is frustrating for sure.

Hang in there I feel like the things will be changing at some point. It seems like a lot of players are taking breaks and reducing their game time and money spent. Played since 2014 and the radically wide balance swings are tough to deal with even for the most dedicated players...

I basically gave up a year ago during ELSWEYR... Dragons where going to be the bomb... All the balancing proved to be too much to keep up with...

I had highest hopes for GREYMOOR...Vampire was going to be awesome!.. But Vampire changes wrecked my toons even more just adding to the dog pile effect. I personally threw in the towel shortly after it released.

They have nothing left to sucker me out of $$... Dragons... Skyrim...

I still log in and piddle around a bit. Just hoping for the ship to be righted

Is ZOS nerfing traits and sets to punish players into buying new chapters and farming new dungeons?
If so, it has created the opposite effect for players like me.

My problem is that instead of taking their time to address player concerns, it seems like they just invent a new issue they need to "standardise" every update.

I left ESO because of this reason, the whole Fake Tank/Healer/DPS problems and the constant bug problems, which is a shame because I loved everything else about ESO.

Feels a whole lot like an endless cycle of problems, creating solutions, creating problems..etc. Let's face it, combat design is not the cash cow that keeps the game alive. It's hard to find anyone who actually plays the game for the combat who would have a favorable impression of what's been going on the last 18 months or so. Most people I know, while succumbing to the attrition of it all, are frustrated and just plain sick of it.

While the developers are no doubt intelligent people doing the best they can, the whole effort feels very misguided. I mean, what's really being accomplished here? Does anyone really find the outcome of any of this resulting in an increase in entertainment value? I sure as heck don't.
