Not sure if this is true...but I came across this article today dated Sept 21 2020. Microsoft may now own ESO.
https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-buys-zenimax-media-bethesda-xbox-game-studios

For $7.5 billion dollars, Microsoft has unveiled its acquisition of ZeniMax Media, the holding company of Bethesda Softworks, id Software, Arkane Studios, Machine Games, Tango Gameworks, and all of its properties. This gives Microsoft ownership of legendary, industry-leading IP including DOOM, Quake, The Evil Within, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dishonored, Prey, and dozens more, including future games like The Elder Scrolls VI, and Starfield.

The deal is true, but it will not close until second half of FY2021. That’s between April and September of next year.

I wonder if this could possibly mean new servers in the future for us:)

I dont think it will affect ESO but I definitely think the next installment of TES will be to a higher standard as less buggy as Fallout 76

Microsoft and ZOS have said ESO will continue to be run as it is now. They haven’t said anything specific about servers, but I wouldn’t think that bodes well for getting new ones.

    Nope.

Besides this being very old news now, MS is not likely to make any significant changes to Zenimax and especially the cash cow ESO is. Official statements have even been made that nothing will change.

It may have been said more in a sense of "old plans and promises still hold", like new consoles support or something, than "nothing will ever change at all". One can hope, right?

    Hope springs eternal.

However, that would be micromanaging the game. I doubt MS will micromanage the company as that tends to be a very poor management style so I doubt they will micromanage the game either.

That very same statement was said when Activision took over Blizzard (WOW) in 2008. 10 years later Activision was not only calling the shots but had filled all the high level Blizzard mgmt positions with Activision people.

In ten years' time many move on to other projects so this is really not saying much. Heck, look at the turnover of top spots in Zos since the game launched, many of the top devs and other notable positions have changed hands.
