Cruel Flurry question before I start the arena weapon grind...

Set bonus: (2 items) When you deal damage with Flurry, your single target damage over time abilities used within 4 seconds gain 1690 Spell and Weapon Damage.

What DoT abilities would this set affect? Only class and weapon abilities? Or proc set single target DoT as well?

And does anyone use this in their build? Should I even bother?

    Proc sets aren't affected by weapon/spell damage.

    AFAIK, this set had a brief heyday about a year ago during scalebreaker when dots were super strong. It's not widely used currently but maybe there's a niche case somewhere.

    It should affect abilities like twin slashes, poison arrow, destructive touch, cripple, searing strike, sun fire, swarm, trap beast, entropy, soul strike, soul trap (not splitting trap morph, since its aoe).

    I probably missed some, I can't remember any more single target dots...

    Beam builds will use it plus oblivion’s foe and then activate soul burst ultimate to do about 160k damage in 5 seconds

    It buffs all Single Target applied DOT skills - Beast Trap, Consuming Trap, Twin Slashes, Poison Arrow etc.

    Not the initial direct damage hit but the DoT is concider single target DoT. I have tested them all with cruel flurry

    The wording is terrible, it's always affected dots that stick to then enemy so pretty much anything that's not ground based.

    It's always been the case, as long as I can remember anyway. Proc sets are affected by damage done/taken and penetration.

    Agreed. And it really wasn't that much of an improvement in PVE.

    I think this set still has some utility in PVP. This was part of the old "spin to win" builds. Don't know if those are effective anymore
