PvP Healing now... What do you need from a support healer (asking as a PvE healer)

With the current test, the groups are 12 man size and you can only heal inside your group. I am a PvE Magplar healer but regularly go in to Cyrodiil when fetching treasure maps and farming crystals. I often join groups, heal in the rams, put up seige and charge into breaches. I usually just put some impen gear on to help with survivability and eat food with health as well. This is fine when you are in a 24 man group and random heals from outside the group have an effect too. However, I do not want to get the other 11 peeps in my group killed because of sloppy heals. I know positioning is important but are there some absolute must use skills that you need me to use. Yes I do read up on builds but there is no substitute for experience. Those of you who actually lead groups generally know best.

You might have more luck posting this in the 'PVP Combat & Skills' section.

There is no thing as a pvp healer. Healers in pvp are tanks with some class utility. Which are kinda useless.

The best way to heal someone is killing the guy that's attacking him.

I meme, but my memes are so truthful they hurt

Want competitive pvp while being outnumbered? Tough luck, the devs clearly said you have to die in those situations

    1) Advanced groups split up heal/ support duties among multiple members - so don't be disappointed when things don't go your way, it is most likely NOT your fault.

    2) You main problem is not your healing output, but the ignorance of your team mates, though both can be helped by wearing HITI's HEARTH: As you glow like a christmas tree, undisplined players will run into your vicinity to get healed up, which also makes the work of the crown easier. Since you are a Templar, your position should be right behind the crown - more elaborate positions are generally used by people who use combat prayer, or who are healing Stamina Wardens.

    3) The second set with an immediate impact would be Gossamer/ Transmutation, but I definitely would't advice to run with 2 light armor sets. The best Heavy Armor alternative would be the craftable set Coldharbor's Favourite, but make sure that you are only wearing it on the back bar, so that you can control the healing effect. An alternative could be Brands of the Imperium. Do not wear the usual PvE buff sets like Spellpower Cure - most players in PuG raids are very inexperienced, so it doesn't matter if they do little damage or a little more damage; it's more important to keep the few players in your group alive who make a difference.

    4) The best monster set should be Troll King, because it synergizes best with radiant regen (not because it is particularly good).

    5) Don't bother with a "healing rotation". If people are spread out, spam as much radiant regeneration as possible; Breath of Life is reserved for the crown or critical players (as a rule of thumb: when they wear a shield or a twohanded weapon, they are NOT critical). When you start spamming Breath, you will inevitably lose control sooner or later.

    6) Your maximum healing output is roughly around 3k x 6 in NoCP, and it is accomplished by using Ritual of Rebirth while Hots (Vigor, Regeneration, maybe extended Ritual) are running. Typically you only do that if enough people are close to the crown, and if things get rough (like at a breach).

    7) Equip a direct purge. There are too many negative effects to cleanse with a synergy alone.
