Houseguests - The Perfect Opportunity To Introduce Bards To Player Homes

Currently the only way to introduce music to our homes that is not game music is to add music boxes (which are nice). But these music boxes don't always lend themselves to the themes and atmosphere we are going for when decorating our homes. Sometimes we want the home to feel more alive and festive. This is something a music box can't always do. A bard would do a far better job of this for those looking to add life to their houses.

I've said before that I would pay many crowns to have Daahin playing in my house and I stand by it.

They went next level with songwriting, composition, and both the instrumental and vocal talent for Elsweyr bards.

I suppose it goes without saying that if we get bards then they will have those perfect on-key silver smooth voices.

How about some bards that sing a bit dirty? I don’t mean dirty words, I mean they aren’t on perfect key, they don’t have a silver smooth crooning sound, but you can tell they love the song they are singing.

Example from Bethesda: Karita from Skyrim singing Ragnar. You can tell she just loves singing about Ragnar getting his arse killed by Matilda

+1 to have Sway As We Kiss playing in my home. It floors me when I obligatorily stop each time I hear it - even after 3+ years thinking it was about a person, and not booze until recently. Lol.

As someone with perfect pitch I really do not want bards in game to be "off". *shudder*

And yes - I would pay a LOT of crowns to have Daahin as resident bard.

Nah. GIve us a Daahin/Malukah bard companion (like the banker) who follows us around the open world.

Many music boxes sound somewhat artificial, and somewhat similar to each other.

The newer music boxes have more ambient background music which I like, for example the psijic one. Its a step more towards changing the atmosphere in homes via music. Its disturbing if you try to do a spooky house and have cheerful zone background music.

But I would love to have houseguests you can tell to sing - or play instrumental - songs on their instruments. There's many beautiful songs in ESO, for example the Elsweyr ones.

It's not "don't like it" - music that is off pitch is acutely painful. If it comes to the game, fine. I simply won't pay for it.

A couple years ago, I bought a boulder at the pub in Daggerfall. I installed the boulder in a house and it promptly started singing. Of course, that was fixed long ago but I liked it while it lasted.

How about make a victorola drop from antiquities. Then leads for all the in game songs. There could be a drop down menu on the victorola to choose which song you want to play, or you could just put it on shuffle.
