We dont need to know in the subject list when a forum mod removes baiting

Save the [Z} icon next to the thread for threads that actually get a response from ZOS.

Because at this point, the mods are in around 40% of the threads and the devs are in 1% of them.

This is a forum suggestion and not a thread about any particular action from moderators, in case certain mods get angry.

To my knowledge, it used to be the case that when a ZOS employee/ forum moderator responded to a thread it would show in the Dev Tracker, it is now not the case and only developer/ community manager comments, not moderator comments are shown in the Dev Tracker. So you can use that a list of 'important threads'

But yes I do agree that the 'Z' icon shouldn't be on threads where only a moderator responds.

I don't mind community responses that aren't the dev tracker, like the manager saying "good job" to all of us when we got to 100%..

Its not really frustrating, just something I thought would help the forums out.

Yeah it gets fairly annoying when you try to see what the devs are actively participating in or when you've kept tabs on a thread for a long time just to have a mod say he removed someone flamming a "git gud" comment. The [Z] icon is pretty useless.

Atleast if you get on the eso discord you can see by the dev tracker that there is hardly any dev activity on the forums.

I would recommend you, and everyone to read the forum rules. Its a nice, easy-to-read list which frankly tells whats allowed and not. and discussing moderation actions is not allowed.

Highly recommend everyone to read it at least once. when i did, some of the rules there, i did not know werent allowed.

    =)

I'm not discussing any actions, as far as I know.

I agree, but they need to be careful about who responds to what.

We got an updated acknowledgment the other week about the guild trader UI bug from a mod whose post did not show up on the Dev Tracker. If we were resorting only to the Dev Tracker, we would not know about it. So now I feel like I have to waste time looking through all sorts of moderation if I want to be up to date in case we get another bug/feature update from a mod rather than a dev or CM. I appreciate the acknowledgment, but it is all too easily lost in the forest of Zs.

but.. that's what not discussion is about. the discussion is about thinking that there is an official response to a post, only to realize that it was just mod editing a post there and no actual replies from developers or anything. it can get a little confusing when notification for response and moderation looks exactly the same while looking at thread titles.

The German thread about Rapid Maneuver has 0 posts edited by moderators for content, yet it is 32 pages of just the same heated and emotionally charged discussion. Only Kai and Jens commented in it, and they were either sharing updates (such as Kai saying that he would ask about it on the livestream back in August) or casually chatting and responding.

That could be due to there being more moderators and higher activity on the English forums. But I don't think it's because German speakers are way more behaved. :p - I actually noticed this a while ago and was going to post about it in my other thread, but I felt it was too off topic and I didn't know how to phrase it without running afoul of discussing "disciplinary actions". I think I am alright here as I am not referring to anything specifically, nor am I saying things need to be done differently here or there (even if I feel that things here could be done differently).

But yes, it would be nice if there was a way to visually differentiate threads that had a developer comment on them versus just a moderator. Perhaps moderators have a different highlight around their [Z] symbol, while developers have one that is sparkly. There seems to be a way for these comments to be differentiated even between the same user - the Developer Tracker has comments by Kai Schober, but not all of his more casual responses to users. Seems that there is a special flag that can be set for a post to show up in the tracker and not just every comment and response.
