Motivation to keep playing?

First off, I love ESO don't get me wrong - but I hate PvP and Group play, so I'm struggling to find motivation to keep playing.

The problem? The level cap...

Once you hit CP 810, while you can technically carry on levelling up, you don't get CP points after 810, you don't get any kind of "reward" for the work being done. So what is the motivation to keep playing with a high level character?

I have 16 characters, 3 are already 810CP, the other 13 are all within 10 level of hitting CP810... when they do, what then?

Spend more money on another character slot, only to have the same problem after a couple of weeks?

*sigh* What's my motivation?

There is a lot to do in the game. If you really don't want to do any group play you can challenge yourself by soloing dungeons and even Trial bosses (as far as the first one at least in several Trials).

Solo in normal (dungeons) then progress to Veteran dungeons. Most can be soloed even those with mechanics in place for group play.

Solo Trials in normal unless you really want to be melted quickly. LOL. Heck, make videos for upload and start your own channel.

If you have a Master Crafter you can help others in game with gear sets. I often go to the starter zones and ask in Zone Chat if any new player needs help with gear sets. It doesn't cost anything really to craft low level gear for new players.

Start a Guild! You really are missing a lot if you are not running dungeons in groups with friends, guildies and even strangers from Group Finder. Hard core Veteran DLC dungeons are a lot of fun.

You didn't mention in your post what roles your characters are so I am suggesting making at least one Healer and one Tank and see the difference in gear, skills and play style. For group play it really opens your eyes to what the Tank and Healer are doing compared to DPS. Since most people run DPS they may have no real idea what a Tank and Healer have to do for the group.

You can also complete Cadwell's Gold if you haven't done so and strive for completion of every quest in game.

Anyway, hope you stay and continue in ESO. Lot's of good people in game!

I play for the story. Yes. Really.

I've never been one for PvP in any game. In my experience, most of the toxicity in gaming is in PvP in general, and I'm just happier without it, so I don't participate. (That's fine with me. Not complaining - just saying.)

I like group content, but only when I run it with my guild. They make it fun, and they are genuinely focused on helping people learn the mechanics by taking 10 seconds to say "this boss does X mechanic so you need to do Y." Bless the decent people in ESO. They more than make up for the turds.

The story and my guilds. That's why I play. If you're lost on lore, watch some ESO lore channels on YouTube. It's actually fascinating, and it's crazy that the story is so deep. The Elder Scrolls lore is just mind-blowing.

Find a good guild filled with like-minded folks and do random things. Try to clear achievements you haven't gotten yet. Participate in a fashion contest. Farm dungeons for rare motifs or pets. Solo group public dungeons... or try. (Muwahahahaha.)

Or, if you're feeling really burnt out, take a break.

There is sooo much to do it is unreal!

You could take every character through every zone, level crafting/traits on all characters, get all characters through all DLC's, do events, gather motifs/outfits, make 2 more characters(since you only have 16), re-gear/re-skill older characters, enter a guild and just enjoy chatting or trading, harvest crafting mats, level certain skill-lines...uhhm, there's probably alot more I forgot. And this was all without group content!

I am always short on game-time. There's always so much I want to do still, that newly released content for me won't be done until there's an event coming up. And by that time I'm usually still not even ready to do that content. hehe
