Dungeon Finder Bugged when a Group of Three

I originally posted this is the general forum (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/546288/dungeon-finder-with-party-of-three). After taking on board the comments from there and doing some further testing with our group I am now certain that this has to be a bug.

In short: the dungeon finder refuses to invite/match us with a 4th player when we start as a group of three (DPS + Tank + Healer)


In full:

We are three players (a Tank, a DPS and a Healer) trying to use the dungeon finder to find a 4th group member (2nd DPS) but to date the dungeon finder has never once found us a match when we start as a group of three. This is in contrast to the speed that we recieive invites if we queue solo or as groups of two. To highlight the issue, we did the following testing during our last play session:


Queued as Group of Three: Tank - DPS - Heal

started queue
2 minutes elapsed. No 4th player found.
re-queue
2 minutes elapsed. No 4th player found.
re-queue
2 minutes elapsed. No 4th player found.
re-queue
3 minutes elapsed. No 4th player found.
re-queue
3 minutes elapsed. No 4th player found.

After 5 attempts (~12 minutes total) no 4th player is found.


Queued as Group of Two

We then disbanded our group of three to test queuing with groups of two. In all combinations we got an invite within 1 minute. The longest wait was Tank+DPS:

Tank + Healer: instant invite
Healer + DPS: invite within 10 seconds
Tank + DPS: invite within 1 minute


Queued Solo

We then disbanded groups again to test queuing solo. The results are what you would expect from a high relative DPS population:

Tank: instant invite
Healer: instant invite
DPS: no invite within 10 minutes

Finally, we all joined back up into a group of three and queued once again - this time keeping the timer running. After 35 minutes in the queue we still had no invite for the dungeon and gave up. At this point we were fed up with testing and waiting and to do the dungeon daily we ended up splitting the group up into a group of two (DPS + Heal) and solo tank and queuing that way. Both groups got invites within 20 seconds and we did our daily dungeon that way.

This seems utterly broken and has to be a bug. Whether it is a bug that is somehow unique to our group or effects everyone i don't know but it needs fixed.
