Why am I forced to PVE ?

Because the main part of ESO is PvE mit story and dungeons. Thats the main selling point and thats what the game is designed around. PvP is just an extra on top.

I want to know why they much think they need to force more PVP onto players in this game. Come up with a new system that taken the transmutes crystals. and the only quickest way to get them is in PVP.. Do they not have the players to do the PVP.. Or they just want to push other players into it so that the others have someone to kill and kept them happy.

I never understood why people play an MMO if they don't want to PvP. Why play a game with thousands of other players logged on at the same time if you don't want to fight them and only fight computer generated pixels.

MMOs are for the most part about a community and RPG elements. That does not explicitely include or exclude PvP. In most cases PvP is just an extra, if it even exists in the first place. In the end its a matter of taste and personality.

Its really not an extra. PVP is deeply woven into ESO with everything from achievements to Antiquities. Which makes sense in a game where PVP was originally the end game.

First up, balance. Like it or not, ESO balances for both PVE and PVP. There's a prime example of that with the new crit changes where the Devs explain their reasoning for the changes in both PVP and PVE. Similarly, does anyone really think that if the Cyrodiil tests lead to AOE changes, those won't impact PVE?

Second, "playing ALL of the game for ALL of the rewards." This principle explains how ZOS handles pretty much every reward in the game. Its most apparent with the achievements for experiencing ALL of the base game like Master Angler or Tamriel Skyshard Hunter; Cyrodiil is a base game zone, so those achievements require Cyrodiil. But we can see this principle at work in events like Midyear Mayhem, the style pages in Battlegrounds, and leads in Imperial City, among other examples.

PVP isn't being treated as some wholly optional extra. No, while ZOS may not be selling PVP content, they certainly are encouraging players to experience PVP much as they do every other part of the game.

Why am I forced to PVE ?

To be fair people who ONLY want to PVP have it waaaaay worse. Undaunted, gear and CP are all easier to obtain by doing PVE

Why are you just picking out a certain part of what they said? Why are you leaving out the part that they said they were going to put in a variety of methods to accumulate crystals, so it would Not require PvP?

    just curious

No one force you to PvP, I rarely did even for transmute.
Take all your char in the easy pledge in vet hm (2-4 cry/char)x2 + some can drop from last boss.
Do the same for all easy nTrial (nss, ncr, nhrc, naa, nso, ..) get 5cry/char/trial that easy 25cry/char/week.
All can easily do with friend or in pug, hell you go do all these ntrial with 6 people or less..

    That way more than pvp.

So start grinding instead of posting thing like this, no one force you but yourself.

I hate PvP too and yet I'm getting transmute crystals on all my characters this month from the campaigns. I just repair castles to level 1 campaign rewards. Takes 25k AP and about 20-40 min per character depending on whether or not you pick up any defense ticks. Sure you'll die from time to tine, but I honestly don't care as long as I can get the crystals.

Wait, how exactly is anyone being forced to pvp? You'll be able to get gear the same way you get it now. That is like saying they forced people to pvp back when Transmute came out because you can't transmute gear without crystals. People sure have a strange definition of "forced."

And yeah, I don't pvp at all. And I accept that this means I won't have access to certain things (like Cyro delves & skyshards).

But that's MMOs - they have a wide range of content for a wide range of interests. And it's your choice whether to participate in each of those things, and your choice to not get the rewards of those activities you skip.

Guys, I opened the game and it ported me from Mournhold to Cyro. A GM told me that I had to kill 5 players before I could port out again.

No one is forced to do anything. Let alone open the damned game in the first place.

Literally spend a half hour in a 30-day Cyrodiil campaign to get your end-of-campaign reward tier up to tier 1, and you'll get a whole transmutation's worth of crystals for basically doing nothing over that period of time, per character.

While doing so, save your Rewards of the Worthy boxes, and open 1 each day, as you're guaranteed to get an uncracked gold geode for your first Rewards of the Worthy box each day (per account, not per character), which can give you a daily income of crystals, on top of the geode given in the end-of-campaign reward.

And that's just from doing a little bit of PvP on each character, you can also get crystals from PvE on top, honestly potentially gaining more crystals over the same period of time than even PvP.

If you are performing sub-par in PVE, you get kicked from group.
If you are performing sub-par in PVP you still get transmute crystals pretty easy.

So where is the problem? Getting transmutes is one of the easiest things in this game.

I don't feel forced to PvP at all. For PvE, rapids is not necessary but for stam players, vigor can be handy - simply doing the Cyrodiil tutorial basically now gets you there. When I want transmute crystal I solo the simpler alliance zone pledges on normal. No problem. Though I'm a solo PvE player, I have no problem with the game having group content and PvP as well. There is plenty for all and I'm not forced into anything to still very much enjoy the game.

Note: I'm not endorsing or complaining about the move to swap rapids and vigor but simply making a point. I don't really care where either skill fits in the tree.

Agreed, except that you don't even need to do the Cyrodiil tutorial to get Vigor, the daily login rewards will get it for you together with the skill point with which to apply it.

I don't like PVP much at all. And also even hate being force into it myself.

I don't like PvP (or Group stuff) much either, and every time I feel like it's being forced on me I take a step closer to my ESO-exit.

That being said, I don't have anything against PvPers getting exclusives for their efforts, I just won't be forced into playing it - even if that means I miss out on content.

I've got enough in PvE areas to keep me happy, thank you very much. (Although more PvE exclusives would be nice for our efforts)

Those crystals were originally introduced to make it a less grind for PvPers, so they don't have to farm gear endlessly for certain traits.
You like Pve? Great... Then farm your gear in the content you enjoy doing...

As a PvP player, I hate how they force PvE onto me.

I got from 10 to 50 doing nothing but PvP, but then got so wrecked after that, no amount of skill could make up for my lack of PvE gear, levels, and skills (Undaunted, etc.).

PvE players whining about being forced to PvP can cry me a river. I have to spend weeks or even months of PvE in order to be competitive in PvP. And I assure you I hate PvE as much as you hate PvP.

This was my first MMO. As you can see by the end of my forum name, I was in the beta. The first year, I was completely against PVP. Then my PVE guild had Cyrodiil night and I was amazed at how much fun PVP was. Then my PVE guild fell apart but I was able to find a great PVP guild. Although I still do all of the PVE content, for the past five years after discovering PVP, that is the content that I log in for. All it takes is finding the right guild. I managed to get lucky and found them on the first try.

What I am saying is to honestly try it. You may be surprised to find that you like it.
