I know that they're similar in power output, but what are each of their strengths and weaknesses? I mostly play magicka so I never really used either before.

2h have great defensive offensive options, so for solo it is definitely great. 2h has better cleave with master 2h (titanic cleave). Pretty sure that for any other scenario dual is stronger because of passives (axe+dagger op).

I always found 2H kind of clunky feeling compared to DW. Only ever tried it on Stamden but once I went DW I found the speed of the game changed for my. It’s much faster and flows with my play style a lot better. I mostly solo on that toon so there is a lot of movement and kiting involved. Also I find it easier to land a heavy attack on DW because the attack fires much faster.

Dual wield unless you know how to use 2H heavy in its "off-label" use...

DW for PvE. Bladecloak is tto op to miss at pve. Aoe execute is effective at pvp.

2H for PvP. Have a good heal or snare removal. Very good damage with delayed bursts

2H is very good for survivability in PvE/solo due to Brawler.
    DW doesn't have anything comparable.

Master's 2H all the way for solo unless you're fighting Ulguna Soul-Reaver. She gets the DW ult and all the dots.

    Spear.

    Spear beats both.

    That or nun-chuks.
