Dungeon/Trial Token System Please

Can we please get some sort of token system for set drops?

I get that it shouldn't just be a given, but I wish that there was some system to account for those who experience very bad RNG.

Sure, most may get their weapon within 10 or 15 runs, but statistically there will always be that guy that doesn't get it after 30, 50, or even 100 runs.

I wish that there was a system where the last boss gave a token, which would let you trade for the item you want for like 10 or 15 tokens.

I feel that beating a dungeon on hardmode should let you choose any random-traited set piece from there. It would lessen the grind, while still making sure that people have to run the content.

I'd be ok if you were awarded gear based on the role you selected. That could at least help narrow down what you will receive.

Either of those would be an improvement. But I still think some sort of token system is the best solution to make the most people satisfied.

If it were up to me I could just PvP for every set I need! But I think a token system has the best chance of being accepted by the most players.

This was one of the options frequently suggested back when you had to grind for gear in a specific trait.
    ZOS introduced Transmutation instead.

Peple complained about Monster Shoulder RNG.
ZOS introduced chests where you can spend more keys for lower RNG.

It's not impossible, but I'd expect it to be grindy to obtain the tokens and be similar to the Alliance War gear containers where it's RNG for item/trait.

I think most people would be fine with the trait being random. I wouldn't presume to ask for that!

But IMO, farming a dungeon 10-15 times is still pretty grundy.

I get that it used to be MUCH worse, but the reality is that a token system would mostly just benefit those who are having very bad RNG. Ultimately, it would not make grinding easier in most circumstances, but would prevent those poor fellows who are about to rage quit after running a dungeon 100 times! This is never fun, and makes you very salty and bitter.

And then when you're that guy who's done 50 bazillion runs with no success, and you hand over a weapon to someone who just did their first run - talk about salt on your wound!! :disappointed:

Be glad you play ESO, @Mobius ... it's a lot less grindy than many other MMOs currently on the market.

Even with group-mate trading, 10-15 times is really nothing.
"May you walk on warm sands."
"First, I would ask that you look to the poor and the suffering around Cyrodiil. Look into their hearts, and then look into your own."
"May Auri-El's light guide you in your darkest hours."

it took 4 years before BSW dropped an inferno staff for me. It seems fair to ask for a challenger achievement reward being able to ask for a specific piece of gear

That's one reason I don't play those MMOs.

And if running it 10-15 times was all it took, I wouldn't be making this post. I'm talking about those 30-a million run instances

Giving players what they want, when they want doesn't incentivize them to replay content over and over.

Prime example: burning spellweave flame staff. One only has to wonder how many times people have farmed City of Ash on average. One hundred times? Two hundred? More?

    Gotta get those player numbers.

But why? There is no lockout? You can retrait for transmute stones....? Find 3 other people and share the loot if you can agree on that.

I can see your point, but I could see so much abuse of that happening with people queue'ing in the wrong role to get specific gear.

I don't see how forcing a small minority of players to have to replay content dozens of times is in any way a good thing. Most people don't have luck that bad. This is only to combat the extremes.

I'd literally rather clean toilets than farm the same dungeon 30 times over. If a game gets me to that point, there is something wrong.
