I just wish to say that my intentions are good and i speak from my heart and its all honest,

I dn't think many people realise how vast, versatile and incredibly gigantic ESO is offering unparalleled freedom in combat, exploration and interaction with the world in general.

tAMRIEL is enormous every step you make everywere you go feels as mini adventure, over 20,000 unique npcs, seemingly countless amount of quests and each of them narrative.

The audio and visuals are superb, game improved significantly since 2014 release. No amount of MMO gave me such satisifaction and thrill it feels as RPG SP game in same time MMO with others ,from reading random books, pets, lore, cosmetics, skins even 1st person view from all little woners to behond, incredible world design, unbelievably generpous amoutn of content for only 13 EUR per month with ESO plus makes this game a wonder

I dont know how can anyone complain , I haven't seen 75% of game yet ,its so well polished , I cannot believe how great it is, never bored there are so many things that i lately get overwhelemed and "drained" combat is just about right, not very hard but challenging in same time,

I would take a noval to write all this especially me being a huge Elder scrolls fan ,especialyl Skyrim one, Every MMO i play or played cannot match ESO it combines world interaction, things to do combat, graaphic, story lore and amount of content to unrivaled level at least from my point of view.

and amount of characters on screen, game runs fast for me, its easy to learn and navigate , I am so happy I started n 2018,

I am incredibly impressed by Devs and their iron will and passion to create such an enormous world, From my experience not a lot pf players look in very details but i do and I am just mind blown away how much effort and attention has been put into , I ma wrtting this from very soul.

Just single zone and major city can feel a lot ,every single place is different, i could spend hours just exploring or searching for things ,not even 15% of map, and then you realise there are 30+ caves, ruins, dolmens, events etc...

BY NINE DIVINES! 1 fully ear of playing every day for hours wont be neough to do every quest and experienc eevery dungeon, point of interest and beyond no way, I can play just this and nothing else PLEASE COUNTINE To suppoirt game!!

Everything that was done was done correctly, from very momnent and crazy amount of features to create a character intro, exploration ,combat, its just gets better each passing day you play...

Yesterday I was stunned by Clockwork city and mysteries around and cannot wait to see more lands , I am on Deadric stroyline in Morrowind ,Vvardenfell its incredible how each quests has tons amount of dialogue and each quests feels as epic tale and joureny and thats just a minor frafment in sea of vastness l
My jaw drops down every time when i think about it, somtimes i kept starting at one place and desgin ,observing all these characters, effects and movement, I am a man that is not easily impressed and i got a thing for details and ESO wont stop taking things to a new level never seen before to me..

I hope ESO lives at least for another decade!

Off now to log and venture into unknown1

Your loyal passionate fan

:)

P.S. I know there are people who got "fed" after 6 years of playing maybe they care not about story lore and all details things we can do , but facts are clear, think about player as me who hasn't seen about 80% of entire content , every step i do and go its just never ending thrill and joy, if you take into accoutn everything Elder Scrolls Online is nearly perfect game , no MMO is perfect but for me its , i cannot ask for anything extra just to keep releasing expansions as obvious of course it would be dream comes true to have entire Tamriel released or arent we very close , even current game is enormous enough to keep casuals and semi casuals hooked up for years honestly

I've been playing ESO pretty much daily since August 28, 2017, and I still remember how magical it was when I took the boat from Vivec City and arrived in Daggerfall. This game takes a lot of heat, but I agree that it's amazing in its scope and depth.

Game teams are good at different things.

The artistic aspects of ESO -- visual art, characterization, storytelling, etc. -- are the best I've ever seen or heard of in an MMO.

The software side is a pretty permament mess. (Note: It is VERY hard to save a software project if it's start is really bad.)

The basic combat plan was fine, except for the disastrous decision to tie PvE and PvP combat mechanics so closely together. The original set of skill designs was imaginative, but it was also careless and screwed up. Further combat work has been mediocre.

I agree with what you said, @Vanya -- ESO is a fantastic game, and I'd go to bat for it against any other MMO. The issue is that it just...doesn't work. I've put a couple hundred hours into the beginner content (the quests), had some great times in dungeons, but the endgame activities I worked to get to -- Cyrodiil and trials -- literally don't function. Performance is so bad that those activities may as well have been removed from the game.

I'm glad that people who focus mainly on quests and overland content have such a good time. That part of the game really is well designed. Imagine what it would be like for you if those parts of the game simply didn't work -- if you couldn't target delve bosses with your skills, if you could only successfully turn in quests if you got lucky to load into the right instance, if NPCs routinely lagged out and started saying the wrong lines so that you could rarely hear the lines they were actually intended to say -- that is what those of us who enjoy the endgame parts of ESO experience when we try to play the content we like.

I'll never talk down to people who enjoy different parts of the game than what I do, but please don't dismiss other players' frustrations as "just salt".

To be fair, OP didn't, a follow up poster did. But I echo what you say in this post. The game is vast enough with loads of content, pretty much something for everyone; it's just a shame that not all content is created equal with the same care and attention. Its a beautiful game, well written, and it really grabs hold of the TES franchise, but it has been slipping, even on the overland elements that it does so well. Those of us who love this game, don't throw around salt, we voice our concern and frustration at seeing something we love become damaged and less than what we know it can be...

IDK about "best" MMO, but it's stories are superb, and it's totally a mandatory game for any TES fan.

Can't compare gameplay with any other MMO cos this is my first one, but it's enjoyable IMO.

    TL;DR

ESO is a gem with so much untapped potential, even after 6+ years it has a long way to go before it can be a polished one.

Hopefully ZOS will put this game where it deserves to be one day. I feel they are trying.

In Skyrim... I stepped carefuly while exploring. Many encounters were dangerous, going in a cave was a great feeling, risk vs reward.

In ESO, since year 2... I just run anywhere while agitating my arms and everything dies instanly, ruining the whole experience.

There's alot of quality in ESO in regards to the rest of the MMO market and it seems it's gonna be like that for years to come. I agree with all your comments and I've been playing since beta 2014.

From a casual perspective this game is breathtaking with all those features, but we do have to admit, and it's NOT negativity, that there are several issues with core designs, programming, server capacities and balancing. All of which might have the potential to be a pain once you start to take this game more seriously in a competitive PVE or PVP.

All in all it's al a matter of how much can your "stomach" digest and get along with these issues. But as a matter of fact, isn't it like this in like all games?

I like ESO far more than I don't, but its far from being the best MMO ever imo.

It has far too little practical choice, despite the "play how you want" motto, this does not apply to end game group content as you are essentially forced into a "meta", or at least close to it, and even successful "off-meta" falls into narrow boxes of having to run specific weapons, armor types, and same ability effects as everyone else in your chosen role, making individuality and creative freedom a non-factor in the game)

There is little to no immersion in the actual world around you, making it hard to get lost in the world as the very basic foundation of the game is one that consistently reminds you that you're in a video game.

Elder Scrolls Online is less of an Elder Scrolls game and more of an Elder Scrolls skinned Diablo 3. ESO is very much a standard copy / paste MMO concept with just a few tweaks to the formula but nothing truly unique or innovative.

It's good at what it does, but what it does is *not* capture an online Elder Scrolls experience, something that other MMO titles in the past have done a far better job with. The irony is that I wouldn't even play this game if it wasn't an Elder Scrolls title, but it doesn't even do any of the things that make Elder Scrolls unique and beloved.

I do like many of the things about this game, enough so that I am deep into it, have played virtually daily for the last 8 months since i came back in December, and have been around off and on in some capacity since the game was in beta. So in no ways am I claiming this game to be trash or bad. Its definitely an aesthetically pleasing game with a large variety of well made lands to explore, mostly well done but sometimes more frustrating than not group content. But at the end of the day I can't call this the best MMO ever for myself.

It's extremely easy to become just as OP in Skyrim as it is in ESO; just make a skill "legendary" so you can level it up again, and keep repeating until you achieve a godlike level. At that point the game becomes pretty boring, too-- unless you happen to run into one of those NPCs who like to wander the world insulting and attacking you, who are extremely difficult to kill since they're scaled-up to a godlike level to match you.

I have a feeling that if this was any other forum there would be a lot more expletives thrown around.
I've been playing this game for around 5 months now and would say I'm overall quite happy with the content.

That said, if people have negative experiences it doesn't take a genius to try and understand why. A little logic and empathy tells me that there are a lot of issues that need addressing which no amount of boot licking can magic away.

Obviously everyone plays the game because there is something that they like about it, but these kind of topics that excessively praise the game while dismissing any form of criticism rubs a lot of people the wrong way. I actually think they do more harm than good.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

The game as it's meant to be, is absolutely glorious. And just the possibility of making awesome crafting/housing, demanding trials, chill questing, and hardcore PVP content - is pretty unparalleled if you ask me.

But it's wrestling with huge issues regarding performance, and outright glitches and bugs that have remained the same year after year. It's making places like Cyrodiil basically unplayable, and if they fix it with intended upcoming changes, it won't be nearly the same anymore.

I hope the performance - and so forth - gets better, this is like the "to be or not to be" of ESO. I know many who have been playing since start, who have been saying like "I'll give it a last chance with this performance improvement plan, if that doesn't do it - I am out. I can't take this anymore". My "IRL best friend" never even started playing this game, because he knows of all these problems. Quite a few people do some research before they start something big like starting to play ESO, if it seems like a waste of time because of issues like these, they'll never even start. This is of course sad, but still true.

Eso is the game i have spent most timer playing. Allways something to do like pledges, altering my builds, PVP and casual exploration. ESOs world is just huge. Some zones are gigantic, other smaller and unique like Murmire. I love this game and will probably spend way to many hours each week playing this game in the future also.

ESO is a massive game with plenty of content to play. The problem I have is that for as big as the game is the story isn't bad but it's not great and over time it becomes boring and feel tedious with all of the small side quest, it reminds of Dragon Age Inquisition fetch quest which grew tiring and boring.

The thing I like about ESO is that you don't need to do the dailies like some other MMO games unless you are trying to get specific styles or achievements. I also like that most of the overland content is designed around a main story that never seems to end but like I stated already it gets tiring and boring.

ESO is a great MMO because it does have many things to offer but like many MMOs over time players get bored and move onto other games.

For me the dull story is why I keep leaving. I come back for a short time only to find myself leaving again because either combat or the story end up being dull and boring.

    Maybe.

I skimmed. And laughed. Works for me.

edit: @amm7sb14_ESO - thanks & good call; I should've read first post rather than skimmed, satire is kind've telegraphed with multi deployment of '...not done 80%....' and others.

Nice job, OP. Still regret not getting in pre-snippy.

Not gonna lie, it was a masterwork [snip]. There were some things in the OP that raised an eyebrow ("my intentions are good") but overall it read so sincere, hence my original response in sincerity.

It's probably one of the best [snip]

I ❤eso. Still here after 5 plus years. I can't find any other game out there that comes close to offering the scope of activities that eso does. The visuals are superb, the questlines engaging aswell as the npcs. There is beauty and humour everywhere. The housing system is spectacular.
The combat system is fun aswell as the skill lines. Most events are fun too and the dungeons and trial are great.
The luxury vendor and golden vendor are a great idea. The fishing is eso is cool. There's so many amazing things about this game, it has a lot going for it.

The devs are lovely, talented, hard working, creative, passionate people.

I hope eso has a long life ahead i really do 😊😊😊

The game is so bad I play it 30 hours a week. If it was really good I would have quit years ago.
