The reason I ask this is because, typically if you ask what the "best" healer is, everybody will turn you to Warden and/or Templar, however while this is true for structured groups or groups that have nice synergy together, I don't feel it is the case for sologrounds as the general AoE burst heals from warden (i don't play plar so I'm not sure how much utility and aoe centric heals they have) simply do not work in teams that aren't aware they are coming. For example: warden puts down aoe heal which also causes major defile to enemies inside it, team will not stun or try to keep inside that aoe heal/debuff. Or Healing Thicket - team do not stay inside this, ever and one of the worst things is that no DPS peel for you in sologrounds, unless you get a lucky group, meaning a lot of your heal time is on yourself and trying to peel for yourself.
Now this brings me to Sorcs / Nightblade healers (I now primarily play NB healer) - the utility these characters have for themselves and your team are extremely useful for sologrounds specifically, because it does not require your team to be in any kind of position, you can completely control the situation by yourself.
Sorcs have an incredible pet heal which is direct and strong, meaning even while your team is dk leaping around and super-running with their bow and wild hunt ring, you can still get them with nice burst heals. They have streak which provides amazing peels for yourself, gap closing team mates who are in trouble but out of reach, effective stuns etc, encase(?), and so many more options for utility while still getting access to panacea, healing springs and radiating healing!
NB's are somewhat the same, with fear traps, healthy offering, group major expedition, shade etc all helping your team with utility and creating very nice getaways for yourself without being team-reliant.
Does anybody else find the "off meta" healers working better in sologrounds this patch? I always used to play warden in BG's, but I genuinely don't feel them as viable for this particular form of PvP. I don't think it's a bad thing at all, I think it's actually very refreshing and a nice change of pace to see these classes excel in healing above the stereotypical healing classes.
