Greetings,
I've been playing the game for several months now, but just yesterday I got access to the forum, so I wanted to give some feedback about the game:
First of all, I'd like to say that this is the best MMORPG I've played so far. It's a lot more RPG and a lot less focused on the MMO part. When I started playing it, I assumed it's just another MMO, and I was trying to grind my way up, but didn't find the game to be enjoyable. Then I changed my approach and started playing it more like I would play a game like Skyrim - listening to the quest narration and doing 1 quest at a time. And the game suddenly became a lot better. All the quests being read out to you is a core feature any RPG should have, as it drastically increases the enjoyment one gets out of the game.
The graphics are awesome.
The combat system is also unique and interesting, albeit limiting. It logically makes no sense for you to be limited at 5 spells at a time, if you know more spells than that. But it does contribute for the game's identity. Having to manually use basic attacks also increases the RPG feel.
Housing is also a great feature, although I think that having a feature, like in TES5: Hearthfire, where you can build a home from scratch, and customize its layout would be great addition to the game.
I also really like how any class can fulfill any role.
I really like how Cyrodiil was implemented - siege castles to capture them, destroying and repairing bridges, etc. However, the Battlegrounds can be really annoying, as there is no match making. You can often find yourself in a team full of players that are simply not on the enemy's level, being doomed to lose from the start of the match. Not to mention you can often find yourself in a 3 v 4 v 4 situation, or worse yet - 2 v 4 v 4. I believe that having a Match Making Rating for battlegrounds, which is based on how much you win/lose, and on your contribution in the match, would greatly increase the Battlegrounds experience. You should be matched with and against players with similar MMR, of course.
Another thing I think can greatly improve player experience would be to make the Crafting Hireling passives trigger 1-ce (or 2-ce) per day (like daily quests), rather than every 24 (or 12) hours. Or at the very least every 20 (or 10) hours. Or you could receive the mats regardless if you are being online or not, as long as you have been online in the last 24 hours. I must say that every week, out of 14 possible resource drops, I only get about 10 or 11. Due to forgetting, sleeping in, being busy with something else, or being physically unable to log in (due to server maintenance, or something else). While one can argue that it's "free resources" and getting any is still better than not getting anything, I'd say that it's not exactly free in the sense that one needs to spend skill points in order to get these "free resources", and it feels bad when you can't utilize them to their fullest. Even if one were to be online at the same time every day to receive the resources, the time will still be creeping forward by few seconds, or even minutes every day.
The way Guild Vendors are introduced is also really unique and interesting, yet inconvenient. I think it will be interesting to have a guild vendor near the middle of Cyrodiil, who sells all the goods from all the guild vendors from around Nirn and Oblivion. Also, having an Auction House feature can be great, where you can adjust the time for which the item is being sold, and the highest bidder wins it (while the buyout value is optional).
I would also like to be able to zoom out more. I may end up rarely using it, but having greater field of view is quite important for MMORPGs.
I also think that having a feature to highlight nearby NPCs (and players) (the aura around them), without having to "target" them, would be quite helpful. Being able to turn this on and off via a hotkey would be great. When doing Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood quests, it can sometimes be hard to spot nearby NPCs until it's too late.
And speaking of highlighting, I also think it'd be awesome to have a feature, that either makes you automatically face the enemy you've manually highlighted, either be able to shoot THEM, even when facing another direction. A practical example of where this will be useful: when fighting dragons in Elsweyr, they like to fly up and land on nearby rocks. In order to shoot them, you need to look upwards, but this way you don't see potential AoEs beneath your feet.
The game is great overall, but I believe it can be even better with these small changes
